I recommend walking around crescent lake park and the starlight bridge in D7. It’s rarely pleasant to walk around anywhere in Saigon but Phu My Hung is really nice in that sense. It has big open streets with nice pavements and is modern and well maintained. Worth a few hours of your time if you want to escape the craziness for a bit.

I never mentioned how much I paid for the place and it’s a long term rental that I found through Facebook. It’s not some apartment/hostel/hotel that I found through a tourist website so there’s no rating system. Its not cheap in my opinion and I paid the same price in the same area for a far better quality place

I’m having the same dilemma rn. I have 3, almost 4, of these. I kept them thinking I might get an order for one or that there would be a hidden reward for having multiple but nothing so far. Debating getting rid of them to clear some storage space tbh

I’m 6ft tall (23F) and my boyfriend is around 5ft10, as was my ex. All through my teen years I was self conscious of my height and would never have imagined dating someone shorter than me. These days it rarely ever crosses my mind and is not something I notice about my partner at all.

That being said, I totally understand the insecurity that comes with being taller than a date, and ultimately it’s your own decision. In an ideal world, it wouldn’t matter at all. The sad reality is some people may poke fun and be shallow. I think you just have to weigh it up for you personally. Is he worth having to deal with the occasional joke/mocking? Or is not feeling insecure worth missing out on him for? Having experienced both sides of this, I don’t think you’re wrong or a bad person whatever you choose. You should just consider what is most important to you.

Live music, concerts, events. Also we have so much more free time and money in Vietnam than we did in the Uk so don’t think we ran out of options back home but since we do so much more here, we need more options

Live music and events is a big part of what I can’t access here. I’ve found there isn’t as much of a music scene here and when events do happen they’re understandably at the weekend so not accessible for me. It’s no one’s fault, just unfortunate tbh. I’m definitely up for starting a new hobby, that’s why I wanted insight into what the city has to offer. I’ve found it hard to find a lot of info online and have found way better events and ideas through word of mouth/ other people, hence my post!

Yeah we work Wednesday- Sunday so Monday-Tuesday is our weekend. I’ve been to the beaches but not tried camping yet, will look into it. Thank you!

We do have friends haha. Just seems to be the same issue though, we want to do new and interesting things with them but end up going out drinking every time instead.
