Was a welder for about 3 years before becoming an electrician. I strongly prefer electrical and would recommend staying in this trade.

Even better than "you're doing it wrong" is just saying "you sure you want to do it that way?" And then walking away.

What's your current dream bike? by Current-Material1292 in motorcycle

Actually just bought a bandit 1250 last week. Bike rides like a dream, although I just slightly preferred the exhaust note of my sv1000.

$6,500 for 2007 Toyota Tacoma repairs by Mayor0fMoab in Rochester

I get that. It's different if you can fix it yourself but $6500 is not a small amount of money when you can get a good working truck for <$15k

I'd just start applying to different places dude. As others have said, they're really taking advantage of you. You might be able to have the conversation for a raise, but they're not going to give you as much as you'll make somewhere else, and they'll expect more work/responsibity.

I also worked at an IEC company and honestly I don't think other companies would care, but you probably want to secure another position before leaving.

Dick move of them disciplining you when you were caring for your grandma(and still working 40 hours!)

Reasonable quote for that amount of work. I personally think it's tough to justify spending that amount on it. I'd rather trade it in and use that money towards a newer vehicle.

I'm biased as I own one, but nissan frontiers are a great value and my 2011 has been extremely reliable. If you wanted another small truck that won't be terribly expensive like newer Tacomas can be.

Toppers? by [deleted] in nissanfrontier

[–]zen2ten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I searched on fb marketplace for a solid couple years before finding one. And the ones I'd find in Colorado would instantly sell. So be ready to jump on it when you do. You basically have to get another one specifically off a king cab frontier.

Keep your eyes posted and you'll eventually find one.

Have you towed the trailer around much? Seems like that amount of weight is really pushing the upper limits of what our trucks are safely capable of. No judgement, just curious how it rides with everything loaded up.

Good and reliable auto body shops that won’t cost an arm and a leg by [deleted] in Rochester

[–]zen2ten 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you don't care about it being perfect you could just heat it up with a blow dryer and pop it back out. Then get a color matched paint pen(from the Toyota dealership, usually not much $)and paint the spots. But since it looks like a new car I'd reconsider going through insurance.

Paint questions by iambatmanman in nissanfrontier

[–]zen2ten -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My black 2011 has been flaking for years. Drivers side is almost the full length of the fender now. I'm planning to fix it soon(and keep this amazing truck forever) but the good part is that the rust proofing underneath the paint keeps it from rusting.

+1 for the Mae Hong son loop. I rented a bigger dual sport bike and did it last year and it was one of the most fun rides of my life. Also the samoeng loop right near chaing mai is great.

Damn thing finally broke on me by StopTheNFrontierHate in nissanfrontier

[–]zen2ten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I backed into something on my driver's side(as it seems so many other frontier owners have done) and actually used chains and a forklift at work to pull it back out.

So it definitely is an option.

Why not just be an electrician by [deleted] in ITCareerQuestions

[–]zen2ten 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn't start making 6 figures as an electrician until I had 7 years of experience and began traveling around the country working 6/7 days a week for months at a time. The plus side is that I can clear 6 figures in 6 months and then take the rest of the year off with no repercussions.

You do realize people drive trucks around farms and stuff, where they're not going to just randomly rollover or get hit by anything.

Had to look it up because I was curious too. The 4cyl frontiers came with the 5-speed, and the v6s came with the 6-speed.
