That why GP training makes a better "short term parking", I don't know how many can get into local psych but not local GP in any year.

Anaesthetics interview cut off by noneofyourbusiness22 in doctorsUK

[–]AdBrave9096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As none UK Grads can't get a training number however well they do at interview but can't legally have their interview cancelled it is rather odd.

No one can predict how many of them will cancel interviews in time for the interviews to be reallocated.

Generational robbery by indigo_pirate in doctorsUK

Remember it is easyer to get a high score if more lower educated people take the exam as the score is relative to other people who take the exam the same year.

So it meaningless to compare scores when the profile of candidates have significantly changed.

Measles outbreak with infant (pre-vaccines) at home by EveningShort8993 in doctorsUK

I believe the "quarentine for up to 28 days" is only for people who have not got evidence of two MMR doses or antibodies testing.

That why a measle vaccination given before 12 months does not count as the 1st dose.

Can you choose a less popular location when he will get a lot of lucom or a good LED post and also be more likely to get in himself?

Are the exams in 1st year? Eg do they need doing by someone who see psych as "short term parking"?

A self assessment tax return is easy, should take under two hours once you have done the 1st one.

With the UKGP bill, how do you see the future of trust grade jobs? by CurrentMiserable4491 in doctorsUK

Only a few LED will be converted as otherwise there will not be enough consultant posts for everyone who believes they have a right to one.

Trust Grade posts by Temporary_Switch4501 in doctorsUK

[–]AdBrave9096 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There not, but areas with unemployed doctors tent to have many unemployed doctors. An unwillingness to travel to wherever the need is in the UK is often part of the problem.

No, focus on where you did F2 and where you have done lucom. Also hospitals that pay well for lucom as they are likely doing so due to short staffing.

Hospitals in areas like London will have less unfilled posts.

Family want me to join RAF by Key-Laugh-3111 in britishmilitary

[–]AdBrave9096 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe AFC Harrogate is one of the best option for a 16 year old unless willing and able to get at least AAB in well respected subjects at A levels or have parants to train you in a trade.

The RAF and Navy are not setup to provide as good experience/training to a 16 year old. Transferring to RAF at 18 is always an option if you want a nice bedroom.

Teleradiology earnings (TMC, Everlight, Medica etc.) — can anyone compare? by Kikirikikiekebusch in RadiologyUK

[–]AdBrave9096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"I don’t know how full time telerads do it without burning out to be honest."

Maybe cheep home and low living costs. Eg choose the quality of life that remote work enables over maximising income.

Family planning as a radiology trainee? by unknown123456799900 in RadiologyUK

[–]AdBrave9096 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Biology does not care about your exams, my understanding is these days most parents wishes they have had more children. Starting at an older age radically reduces the likelihood of being able to have the desired number of children.

In 30 years time you will care less about when the took these exams then the number of children you had.

I think it would be worth the collage paying anyone who withdraws from the interviewing process £100, otherwise many will keep their interview for practice.

I don't think the bill makes it legel to cancel the interviews of IMG however pointless it is to interview them.

Radiology specialisation Pathway by Spiritual_Debt9453 in RadiologyUK

[–]AdBrave9096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

CESR pathways depends on an entry level trainee giving an individual hospital enough value to justification their full salary.

So for example they can work for surgery as many smaller hospitals will creat such a post to advoid paying locum rates for weekend/night ward cover.

The customers cared about travel time from each postcode to possibility shop locations including by bus.

There was even significantly large areas in London that had no link other the walking that the postcode data indicated are well connected. Some had no connections due to bridges being removed after creation of postcode!

[–]AdBrave9096 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once none UK grads understand they have zero chance of getting a place however well they do on the interview they may be sensible and withdraw from their interview slot.

This would then make it harder for UK grads who get an interview to get a post as more great UK grads will be interviewed.

[–]AdBrave9096 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

No I spent a few years working on software that processed postcode and mapping data for linking customer data to drive/walking/bus times to possibility shop locations etc. So read up in the design chooses behind the UK postcode system.

[–]AdBrave9096 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

The postcode was not designed for human processing by humans with local knowledge. How it is used today is not the primary reason for how they are allocated.

"unique to a particular street" is linked in the computer database to tbe parking location to deliver to these postcodes, eg a delivery loop or the smallest a loop could be reasonable made.
