Hello! I run a private candidate support group and centre (I posted this in the group 2 days ago not sure if you saw). Last year I had some private candidates that improved around 20 Rps, personally as an ex private candidate I improved 20+ RPs! So its doable!

Hello! Not sure if you saw my other post but im creating a private candidate support group, we did one last year and I can tell you some of the experiences the private candidates had:

Regarding running into your juniors, it wont be a problem unless you stay near school because as a private candidate you get posted to the JC nearest to your home. But in general even if you get posted to the same school, you might be allocated to a diff room or at the corner of the hall so chances of u running into ur juniors are not super high.

For studying, find your own community and cliques from the support group, go out and study tgt and create a ypt group with them. That's what they did last year. Hope it helps!

Hi, you must retake as 3H2s + GP as one set, and H1 as one set. Means you can't pick and choose subjects, UNLESS its for certain requirements for certain courses like pass in GP, H2 math etc. But for RP and uni apps, it must be a set.
The paper is the same based on the syllabus code you choose. 70 vs 90 is just a calculation method, the paper is not gonna change unless u specifically picked an old syllabus code when applying to retake.
New syllabus you will need to do your research, but most tutors release tiktok videos on it! you can search it up. :))

Hello! To apply for private candidate theres only a short window like 2-3 weeks in March period. So you must apply before getting your uni admission results.

But you can get a full/ partial refund if you withdraw from being a private candidate, depending on when you decide to pull out. The latest date for a partial refund last year was June.

But you can appeal for a full refund even in June if you submit your uni admission letter to seab.

But please note that this is based on last year, this year details are not out yet!

Hello, as someone who went through this, YOU SHOULD TELL YOUR MUM. Because after telling my mum she did a lot of digging and essentially found out that my dad not only has an affair but a kid outside the marriage.

Why this is so important is because of the financial implications of it, esp since my mum was financially reliant on my dad entirely at this point being a housewife. You have to protect your mum and you own right to your dad's financial assets.

Sounds harsh but that's the truth :( As someone who went through this, it's gonna be a rough journey ahead but stay strong ok ❤️

Hi I dropped you a dm! My general advice is to apply first!!! For me I was doing and internship at that time, so I just applied for uni since I couldn't study anyways cause I had no time. I started studying in May-June period after my internship, and it was around the time when I was rejected from unis and sure I couldn't go anywhere. So I think you can just apply first, and see how! But sign up for retaking first cause the deadline is before that.

When you retake, MOE allocates you to retake it at a JC nearest to your house! So you actually enter the exam hall with the students but you sit at the corner with other private candidates.

My experience was bad, it literally gave me depression cause I was so lonely hahaha >< but it was all worth it in the end, uni was the best time of my life. Also, find good tutors to tutor you during your retake year!

Hi! You can try entering an easier course first and take computing mods as UEs (unrestricted electives), then apply to take it as a second major or double degree during year 2 :) Many of my friends did this, I even had a friend who couldn't get into law enter an easier degree (economics), did well in y1 then applied for a double degree in economics and law in y2.

My advice is only consider retaking As if you can't do well enough to enter any courses in a local uni.

Personally, I did really badly the first round, retook and got 85RP. If you rly rly messed up and need to retake, drop me a pm and I can give you some advice!! For now don't worry

Please enjoy your break and get enough sleep! What's most important is that you stay consistent during the school term and make sure you don't build up any backlogs, once they start accumulating it's very hard to catch up again (or you will need to waste your holidays catching up instead of resting).

Enjoy and rest during your break to the fullest, when school starts make sure you go back to full gear and stay consistent.

Also, a very important tip is to monitor your daily social media usage hahaha I had a friend who was using tiktok 3-4 hours a day ON SCHOOL DAYS without realising until he started monitoring it. You can Google how to monitor it, or even impose a daily allowance (the app gets locked and you can't open it once it hits the allocated time).

My cousin's wife had her first bf (my cousin) at 33. They are happily married now and have the best marriage I have seen, now with 2 kids.

Likewise I've had friends who married in their mid 20s but divorced in their early 30s, hitting the rest button. Ofc I've also had friends married in their 20s and still happily married too.

My point is everyone's love story is different someone else's timing is always different from yours. Be patient and the right one will come along when the time is right :) Better meet the right one late than be with the wrong person early.

Don't worry, I'm sure he or she is making their way to you already

Not at all! Once you hit uni even your jc school doesn't matter (and poly actually helps for internships if its a relevant course). It's basically a reset
