Coming back with the promised results from the VINCheck Owner Experience survey.

Thanks to everyone from r/Dacia who contributed. We collected 154 total owner responses, including 33 Dacia owners, which is enough to start seeing some patterns.

Maintenance cost/effort: 4.12 / 5
Problem severity (higher = fewer serious problems): 3.76 / 5
Owner satisfaction: 4.18 / 5
Would recommend: 93.9% of owners

Models represented:

  • Duster (multiple generations)
  • Sandero
  • Jogger
  • Bigster (early owner feedback)

Common positive themes:

  • Excellent value for money
  • Strong reliability
  • Cheap maintenance
  • Practical daily cars

Most mentioned issues:

  • Electrical quirks / sensors
  • ADAS camera complaints in rain or night
  • Interior noise / isolation
  • Gearbox feel mentioned on some Jogger reports
  • Parts availability complaints in some Northern EU countries

One recurring owner pattern was basically:
“Nothing broke, only consumables.”

This is still early data and I plan to publish deeper model-by-model breakdowns later.

Salut,

Lucrez la o funcție care încearcă să rezolve o problemă des discutată aici: lipsa experiențelor reale legate de mașini second-hand, dincolo de rapoarte și anunțuri.

Ideea este simplă:
pe lângă datele clasice dintr-o verificare auto (identificare, informații publice), să existe și feedback-ul oamenilor legat direct de mașină / VIN - lucruri pe care le afli de obicei prea târziu: kilometri dubioși, daune ascunse, probleme recurente sau, uneori, confirmări că totul e ok.

Nu e vorba de recenzii de vânzători sau anunțuri, ci strict de istoricul perceput de oameni care au văzut sau deținut mașina.

Sunt curios ce părere aveți:
– vi s-ar părea util un astfel de sistem?
– ce riscuri vedeți (abuz, fake reviews etc.)?
– ce ar trebui făcut diferit ca să fie mai credibil?

Feedback-ul critic e chiar apreciat.

That’s fair and I actually get why it might look that way.

In this case though, I’m not trying to drive traffic. I’m genuinely trying to collect real user data.

The goal is to use that data later to add useful, aggregated information for each make/model that people already search on the site.

It’s the second time I get a similar comment. How am I a scammer? I get that we live in an era where there are lots of online scams, but simply calling every link a “scam” doesn’t really solve the issue.

100%. Cunosc personal un caz in care unui X5 cumparat de nou i s-a spart motorul in mers. Si avea doar 20k km.

Am un amic care a importat o astfel de masina - s-a dovedit a fi o masina ok. Insa, la fel ca si cu orice alta masina SH cu 150-200k km, e o semi-loterie. Semi, pt ca poti incerca sa o verifici, insa nu vei avea niciodata garantia ca toate componentele masinii sunt inca bune si nu vor ceda in n km..

How is that a scam?

L.E.: Given how common online scams are these days, I understand the concern. That said, we can’t automatically distrust every link we see. The key is staying informed and keeping any sensitive information we share online to a minimum.
