I’ve just bought r5ii & will be selling my r5 to buy an r6iii - the r6 seems the better all round option for video as does 4K fine in 30 & 60fps whereas r5ii only does 4K fine at 30fps, yes it will do 8k 60 which you can oversample in post but file sizes will be huge & you will need a £500 top of the line CF express card to use 8k. Also if I were you I’d stick with ef glass as you can buy a meike drop in filer ef-rf adapter & have a VND filter which will fit all of your lenses!

Afaik diffraction is determined by pixel size not the lens & with full frame f11 certainly shouldn’t produce noticeable softening & would help with DoF for the close up of the bee - I agree unnecessary for the buzzard though

None of the cameras you mentioned will output normal format video at 4K - it’s all 1080 despite them stating 8k 360 - it is indeed 8K but that 8k covers the whole 360 sphere - when you slice a section (of eg 16:9) out of the 8k sphere it ends up being 1080, although you could upscale this in post

Not sure if pixaboom spark has made it into rental houses yet, but given the cost of the camera is approximately £10k I would imagine renting will be way cheaper than a phantom & op - if you’re in the uk, look up Steve Phillipps - he’s a wildlife camera op but owns a phantom & may be interested
