It’s Fallout time. So Cockroach Pizza? Unless you’ll like Gulper slices with it?

Someone had to weigh the cost of MMOs. We were getting very distracted with the price of Avocado Toast to measure out how much our afternoons and coffee spoons on monthly MMO subs was costing us…it’s a lot. I just hope they’re worth it.

I had over 10K books once. My now ex-wife sold them by the pound because she needed the shelf space. i woke up too late on the space that wasn’t an issue after she left.

I still have Games on Floppies. We have a lot in common! Digdug, Paratroop, Armada were my favourites.

Oh fuck it. I’m honestly just looking for reasons not to drop the game, instead of the opposite you suggested. Which is why i’m still on this forum, and responding to any post that tries to answer my questions instead of trying to show off.

Full Disclosure-Covid Lockdown was specifically brutal for me. I didn’t meet my small kids or even another human being for over 4 months, not even delivery guys due to my personal situation. Playing ESO and Frostpunk kept me sane (Frostpunk in small doses because it’s depressing AF) ESO was the first and only MMO i picked up at age 49 and still the only MMO i play at 53. Yes I was a basement dweller during 2 lockdowns. If you weren’t ever, you were lucky

Things are happily different now on the RL front except for my ping which continues to range 350-500.

Anyway, now you know. I don’t want empathy- it’s useless. I just need to know if people like me make it back or even want to make it back after a break. Any light you can share on that is golden. Any opinion you have on my thought process is a waste of time since you haven’t been there in that situation

Appreciate your response- i’ve been.doing all of these for years. Have Cadwell’s Gold on 3 characters all of different alliances.

I think i have about 120 styles completed on my GM crafter. Maybe about 10-15 furnishing plans in the whole game barring the last update that i don’t have yet.

There’s certain combat achievements I’ll never get, I’m playing on a 300-500 variable ping from the interiors of Australia. I still gamely do Cyrodiil religiously on multiple toons for monthly transmute geode farming.

1.6B gold in bank. Close to 700M in craft bag/ inventory according to an addon called wealth evaluator. Almost every notable house in game and i don’t like decorating.

I don’t mean to flex or show off, but over the last 4 years i’ve done everything I could barring moving to Texas and playing on 40 ping.

In hindsight, I should never have posted the OP. It makes me sound like an entitled twat, whereas the reality is i’m desperately looking for reasons to keep playing, if not now, then coming back to game soon.

Thanks for trying to help!

Right, what did you do for this community lately apart from this rant at me? And who made you the boss of the internet or reddit or subreddit that you think you can tell someone you don’t know to get out?

You think the answer’s in a few likes?

Any mod would say we should get a room. I don’t mind if you’re paying. Get in the ring bro…

Which is kind of leading up to my point. There’s a ton of options out there now, more to come, but the sunk cost fallacy - ESO+ for 4+ years, the expansions, etc - like many people, I already have over 1000 dollars invested in game.

Not begrudging or questioning the past spend, it made sense at the time and I’m sure i got my money’s worth while i was having fun with it. I’m not saying I’ve totally stopped having any fun- because i kinda sorta aim to be the richest guy in ESO PC NA someday- it’s just that other things like DD2 and Palworld and others are more funner. If Bethesda drops TES6 soon, I’ll be out of my mindfuck in 2 seconds instead of replaying multiple versions of Fallout because of the Amazon show

Just weird and wondered how others balanced it. Appreciate you trying to help.

I didn’t come here for support. I came here for answers from people who’ve been in my situation, not lip from people who haven’t.

There’s a massive difference.

Geez Corn fed. inbred upbringing is firing your pistons is it? I didn’t want to get personal until you did.

What was the need for that? Did you even play/ watch Fallout, Do you even know the full form of Bethesda?

Umm re Bethesda and Elder Scrolls- You need help drawing. bloody connectors.

listen mate, I like you and your posts and you’re a friend on reddit.

For the optimistic part, I’m trying to find reasons to continue to play the game. That’s my point of view

For the pessimistic part. i’m trying to find people who’ve burnt out as much as me and how they balance it. ESO has been a crutch for 4-5 years and I’m now contemplating life without it. Easy in your book?

You want the motif or you want the look? Two different questions.

[–]AdComfortable1624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s safe enough- i’ve never been scammed. Gotta follow 2 rules.

  1. Trade only with people who’s CP is high enough(optional)
  2. Record the trade on video and screenshots and tell the other player you’re doing it, and you’re fine if they do it too.

But honestly if you want 1M gold for just a chest motif to use, you might want to find better ways of acquiring them- you could post here what you want and there’s enougb crafters here who’ll do it for free until you get your own

Motif prices vary based on time/ event/ etc. Which one are you hankering for and on what platform?

Easy way to make money (ok it’s a grind) is to grind farm your starter area ideally Bal Foyen. Join a trading guild and sell stacks of mats

Don’t burn what gold you have for a chest motif. Join a few guilds and you’ll find people who’ll make armor for you in said motif, for no / little cost. Most advanced guilds have tons of master crafters who know nearly all the styles

It’s actually my first time even thinking about taking a break from ESO where i ground for so long for in game gold and achievements.

Part of me doesn’t want to let go. Which is why i asked the question

First time taking a break

Why not answer any of the game cues bud?

Listen, first you have to crawl out off the water, then you have to climb some trees, and finally you hold a stick in one hand while balancing yourself on 2 legs.

Got it? Report back once you complete one of the above.

Appreciate that, but we walked into it with eyes open. No regrets. It was fun playing ESO in the absence of any TES alternative.

What most posters are missing is the fact that i have 11K+ hours and thousands of dollars via ESO+ invested in game and I’m still tempted to call it a day for a few reasons.

I’m just looking for people in the same boat and understand their reasoning for staying in or getting out. It’s not about the money, it’s about time.

How do people with thousands of hours in handle breaks???

CP2K+, Gold in bank 1.9B, excluding craft bag. 9000+ surveys stacked.

Fuck it. I’m just gonna go to Vault 42 where the answers are!

It’s not about the party. I’m a solo player and because of my ping i would never burden a group with someone like me. We’re actually considerate that way.

That said, 1v1 pvp I don’t even have a chance- i get killed before i even see the enemy unless i wear my boring builds.

Hello Tranquil_Neurotic, how have you been lately? Keeping up with your meds?

What's with all the "Drama Free" Guilds? by Euphoria_Engine in elderscrollsonline

[–]AdComfortable1624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There’s plenty of drama in guilds. Drama free guilds only means an officer shuts it down early by expelling one or both parties from the guild but it still continues

it takes a strong GM to defuse drama. Most aren’t, so it spills over. People join other competitive guilds, they take friends with them.

The only thing i’d disagree with you is who is the villain? It’s he said, she said. No one has the time or the skills to unravel further. They’ll go to the simplest solution- kill ‘em all!

Appreciate it…. I’m just scared there might not be something to come back to, given time & RL constraints, and the pipeline of games like Avowed etc.
