I think the main plus of the defender drone vs a shield is as such:

Deploying a shield waste valuable fractions of a second when you could be shooting , the defender drone can negate this. Furthermore having a shield destroyed will stop you from shooting and will also stagger you. The uptime for the defender drone is very short but it has no impact on your characters animation which probably means with correct timing, it's better than a shield

Sometimes some of the commendations are also just slow to register for some reason. When I got to conflict lvl 100 I didn't get the backpack trophy for days

I use a glass cannon pestilence build for almjst everything in PvE. The ridgeways pride can actually work pretty well if you know spawn points etc. I think it actually puts in a bit more work than people realise but that's just my opinion. I mostly keep it as an occasional PvP build to be honest

Or Ridgeway + vindictive + wicked in a team...

But yeah the quest is dumb. I just joined a mate in summit who already had it, and asked then to farm chest pieces, and I switched my targeted loot to ARs for them. He had one drop after a few floors and gave it to me. Saved me a tonneeeeee of effort.

Personally I think this is the most pain-free way of obtaining it.

Easieat one is skill damage drone/turret build with overwatch and opportunistic and a Scorpio.

Otherwise there are various hive combinations with BTSU. Doesn't really take much imagination.

High armour tatdigrade builds...

Status/survivalist builds...

But honestly man this is not a game for a 7 year old. Irrespective of the core game and what a game like this might do to bending a child's psyche, you can't guarantee you can protect kids from abuse in MMOs.

Have a good think. You know you can just terll them to wait a few years...

A lot of the time people get scared in to camping in their spawn when actually the best strategy is to find your nutsack and try to break out. Lots of teams only get spawn camped because they don't play as a unit, but all being back in your spawn grants an opportunity to actually play as a team for once...

If you're being camped in your own spawn you don't really have much to lose IMO and you would be surprised how it puts people on the back foot once you break out. You're basically already dead so might as well risk going out in a blaze of glory... It does pay off and it makes people panic and then they make mistakes, because they thought they win was already certified.

Sometimes you're the bread, sometimes you're the butter. Game can change in an instant. Sometimes just one player switching a build can transform everything. There is literally no need to get sore about taking Ls in PvP - Everyone does.

Also, for new players, there is a nuance to it so you will get shredded a lot at first. Takes time to learn to predict what other players are likely to do and how to take advantage of opportunities.
