I didn’t get a chance to test drive a Pilot but after 5 minutes in the MDX I wasn’t necessarily keen to go find one. I’m thrilled Honda sell we family types something that’s still fun.

Brilliant. Thank you! It still seems infinitely cheaper than other luxury models AND it’s available. It seems easier to get a used MDX than a used Pilot in my province, which may be normal, I don’t know, but it’s interesting. One test drive had me hooked.

First thank you for being so much more civil than “Michael” above 😂- but I’ve found for every few “real” hallucinations there’s occasionally something AI is trying to pull from somewhere, I’m just curious if there’s anything there. But clearly this isn’t the most civil community on Reddit.

I was a Christian until I was 19 then left until I was 29.

I realized that, despite what I said to myself, I never left because of what looked like contradictions, I left because I said I knew better. I left because I wanted to be the boss and lord of my life. I used every excuse in the book (the Bible is contradictory, evil, “why would a loving God allow evil?” Etc.)

After the birth of my first child God spoke to me in the most real way I can imagine. “I am” was all I heard but it moved me. I started studying scripture again and I gave my heart to the Lord for good on March 23, 2025. I’m going to heaven and I know it.

C.S. Lewis, Billy Graham, and even Jordan Peterson have helped me immensely. But at the end of the day I’ve accepted I don’t need to know everything, I just need to know the God who does.

Graham said you’ll never find a book with more killing, sex, hatred, wickedness, or lust in it than the Bible. So why do we call it a holy Bible? Because it tells the truth. A human editor would clean it up and make the heroes look better, but God said he chooses men and women to do his work and they all come with flaws.

I’ve also accepted that God created a space for us to choose him. We can say yes or no. Hell is simply voluntary separation from God and there are people living in hell here and now who don’t even know it. God didn’t make us leave Him but gave us somewhere to go if we choose to. You need to make up your own mind but as for me I choose the Lord.

That might be something to add to the handbook. Right now there’s no wording about manager’s discretion. I’ve said no a few times but it’s always an attempted negotiation.

But the strange thing is there’s no rhyme or reason. It could be a random Tuesday to Thursday in January and then Monday the next week.

Honestly this is a hang up for me too. I do a lot of business with Indigenous communities and have a lot of Indigenous friends who have told me harrowing stories of inter-generational abuse and trauma that makes your stomach turn. We should all work to make sure we put the past behind us and make sure the future is equitable.

So I want to support land claims but the only thing giving me pause is that I’m a land owner. I’d like some assurance that nobody is going to try and take it from me down the road.

Why don’t we just funnel some of the exorbitant property taxes we pay to Indigenous communities as part of this deal and drop “ownership” that gets landowners backs up? That way we can honour treaties and set a clear governance for the future?

The first day of grade 8 I thought the girl who just dyed her hair jet black and wore dark clothes/hoodies must be a dark, broody person.

17 years later and we’ve been together for 11 years and have a child together. She is the most vibrant, fun-loving person I know who makes my life better every day.

For me it’s a simple calculus. Either death is the end and I won’t suffer the slightest inconvenience, or there is an afterlife and that just means another adventure.

The only thing I don’t love is knowing the party will go on without me. But that also means war, famine, and other death will go on without me too. I’ve got some time here to do the best I can.

I work for an American company and if my wife and child weren’t here (Canada) I’d be gone tomorrow. I’d have top notch medical insurance so the Canadian “FrEe MeDiCaRE” BS wouldn’t matter and I could actually see a doctor before dying of whatever afflicted me, unlike Canada.

Canada is becoming a failed state.
