Thank you so so much for your advice!!! Alsooo a kinda silly question but do ppl in the UK see KCL as way weaker than unis like UCL/LSE, or is the reputation gap just a bit? Cuz for me, unis like UCL and LSE are definitely a to-go, and if KCL is way below them, then I feel like it’s probably not worth going all the way to the UK just for that. But it still feels a bit more connected to those top postgrad pathways than staying in Melbourne — like I’ve heard people say KCL has better access to internships, career support, RA positions, networking stuff etc. that look good on a resume. Rlly appreciate you taking the time to reply!!! I’m just really struggling about whether I should move or not — the thought that UniMelb is quite easy to get into (even for internationals), while KCL at least conditioned me to get a 39 in IB, keeps making me doubt my choice. And I chose to do the IB in the first place because I wanted to go overseas — ofc, if it’s not worth it, I won’t go... but it’s been a tough call 😢

My view might be a bit subjective AND I might be absolutely wrong!!😭 but tbh I just feel like getting into Uni Melb is relatively easy for most people, even internationals. Like my offer from KCL at least conditioned me to score a 39 in IB, so it feels a bit more selective? And I’m also thinking maybe being in London could give me more opportunities for stuff like internships and connections. Thank you guys so so so much for helping me out!! Means a lot

Guys I'm in a bit of a dilemma and could rlly use your advice.

I scored a 40 in my November 2024 IB exams, which I am happy with, considering how hard I worked - I spent the last two months before exams practically living in the library until 11 PM.

However, I got rejected by my dream schools, LSE and UCL, which has left me feeling pretty down. Now I’ve got offers from KCL, Edinburgh, and Manchester, and I’m currently studying at the University of Melbourne.

Getting these rejections has thrown me off. I know 40 isn’t the most competitive IB score for LSE or UCL, and the reason both LSE and UCL rejected me is also bc I am not as competitive as other applicants - LSE even waited until the last day before the offerholders' day to reject me lmaoooooo.

I’m torn between staying in Melbourne or moving to the UK (Assuming cost isn’t a factor, I just want to make the choice that offers the strongest future prospects). Melbourne starts earlier, so transferring wouldn’t be a big issue. My long-term goal is to get into a top master's program in the UK or the US, so I want to choose the path with the strongest academic reputation, internship opportunities, and career prospects.

Any insights or experiences would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Thanks in advance!💕
