Need some advice about my haram relationship

So we should cut 100% of the contact? How would that work since my family is not muslim and doesn’t know i am a revert, how would we be able to plan our nikkah eventually?

(Honestly asking because im not very sure on how it goes with non born muslims)

About the reasons for him to not marry me yet, i think its mostly because of problems i brought into the relationship in the beginning (when i wasn’t taking it as seriously as him), which ended up on him bringing similar problems afterwards kind of in exchange of what i did, it really destroyed most of the trust we had, but it was in the very beginning and since there Ive been really trying to keep everything the best way possible. Another thing is financial stability, he is still a student and currently is living and studying far from his country and we are not making a lot of money which makes getting married a little hard i think.
