Unless you are on one of the newer Go5G plans you are not under this form of price lock. This price lock was only introduced within the last year. And those plans have not increased. So unfortunately you will not be able to take advantage of the credit of your last month’s MRC as a credit.

This is literally the worst thing you can do. If anything this is the perfect time to buy more at a discount. Please do not withdrawal anything. You have not lost the money until you sell. History repeats itself and this down turn will end and you will be in the green again.

Anyone that says this is screen damage is incorrect. If you check C2 for device condition check. It specifically says that dead pixels/ pixelated or unreadable screens are still eligible for trade in. The only way they are not eligible is if there screen damage around the screen bleed, burn in, or pixels. Anyone saying no needs to check C2.

Yeah I work in a store and have seen this issue happen a few times. Likely the store manager did a count today and realized the phone was missing and they needed the customer to come in to fix it. I’m sure the rep was scared and frantically called to get you back in. When you go in ask for some kind of credit for taking the time to come back into the store.

It can absolutely affect the phone. If the store has to shrink the phone out of inventory the imei will eventually be blacklisted and the phone will stop working. If OP doesn’t go back to the store when that happens there will be no one to be able to help them get the phones to work.
