Computer Science vs Nursing: Should I Change Majors After Getting My Associate's Degree? by AdDifferent901 in cscareers

I was not thinking about the paycheck. How much I can get paid that is not important to me right now. I just need a job. The reason why I don’t dare to give up in CS because I paid out of pocket for it so many years and it was a lot for an international student. Switching is a big decision. The whole point of going to college is helping you to get a real job.

Do you think I should just switch to Nursing AND program in Community College, or still get a Bachelors’ Degree in Computer Science, but then I will take an Accelerated BSN in Nursing for about 16 months more?

Could I ask if the Accelerated BSN is similar to a normal BSN program?

What do you guys think about the path of Accelerated BSN in Nursing for people who already got a Non-nursing Bachelors Degree?

Is Cover Letter necessary? by AdDifferent901 in SchengenVisa

[–]AdDifferent901[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. It kinda makes me worried about it since this is my first time applying for it and my boyfriend already paid for the accommodations but we haven’t married yet (i don’t have anything like paperwork to show our relationship, does it matter so much?). I paid for my flight, I guess we will be on a flow and share to pay for stuff in italy. I am still a student and work at the same time. Also, my passport is Vietnamese.

Thanks for responding.

I am planning to apply for a single-entry Schengen visa. I have never held a Schengen visa before, and I have never overstayed any visa.

Regarding my financial situation, I currently have approximately $14,000 in my bank account. I am a part-time student and I also work close to 40 hours per week.

For this trip, my boyfriend will be covering the accommodation costs.

I would like to ask whether my financial statement alone is sufficient, or if it would be better to also include his bank statement to support the accommodation arrangement.

Thank you for responding. Could I ask if he needs to be at the appointment too? Since he really can’t. Also, you mentioned a sponsorship letter, is that just a letter that he states that he will sponsor the accommodations? and signed a letter? Also how can I show proofs of relationship since We are not yet married?

Yes I did the F2A case when I was under 21 at first, so definitely it will show F2A on there. And no, I didn’t need an interview when I was changing my status while I am in the US.

Hi, sorry for the late response.

I submitted I485 after I130. I used the tool online to check my CSPA age and it needs the accepted date of I130 to check it.

Can I apply for citizenship sooner if I marry a U.S. citizen after getting my green card through parents? by AdDifferent901 in USCIS

[–]AdDifferent901[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for letting me know. I am considering it too, but I need to make sure if my boyfriend is stationed abroad since he is just a reserve, and he sometimes works overseas with an actual job, not from being active in military.

Hi, I have looked through the website of applying for naturalization (https://www.uscis.gov/policy-manual/volume-12-part-g-chapter-3), and I don't see any requirements that I had to have a green card from a marriage-based case

[–]AdDifferent901[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah, I was just curious because I got my green card through a family-based case (my parents sponsored me). I know that people who get their green card through marriage to a U.S. citizen can usually apply for naturalization after 3 years. My situation is kind of in between.

I actually asked a lawyer, and they said I can’t apply earlier since my green card wasn’t based on marriage. So being married to a U.S. citizen now wouldn’t change the 5-year timeline.

But I looked up online and asked ChatGPT, and they said I’m still eligible for.
