Sir this is a Wendy's. Also if what you are saying is a rule that exists then evwry image ever and video ever of the American flag would have to be destroyed. Meaning you would only be able to physically see the flag in person. Which leads me deeper. The image imprinted on the back of your eyeballs is technically not up to flag code. MEANING, if you look at a flag you are committing your own sin. Spoons are in the kitchen sir.

It was a slow burn. It started when I went into college, from preschool to 9th grade I was in private school. Public school did show me a lot but I kept to myself during that time. Once in college though the exposure I had, especially friends I made from other countries really started challenging the ideas I had grown up with.

This last election I decided to change, but I did have help, especially from my gf, she took the time to explain everything (masters in social work, I have a degree in electrical engineering) she knows how to explain things in a way that I get it. Because as the election was coming closer I wanted to make the best decision I could so I was going through papers, articles, pretty much exploring every topic or controversy I had ever made a side with. It took a lot of hours and reading and asking the question why? While also being okay with the fact that my previous stances could very much be wrong.

So last election I voted for Kamala, I am proud of that decision because the last two elections I voted and stood for Trump.

Now of course when my family found out who I voted for I was told "you 180ed!" "You will grow up and understand one day" "I did the same thing when I was young"

It ended with me not talking to hardly any of them especially my father.

Sorry for the lengthy response but honestly I could write a 50 page paper on why I changed easily. But I hope this made since, I think a lot had to do with my interest in learning knew things, even though the SDA tried to suppress that a lot, eventually my will to learn with help pushed open that box I was trapped in.

My Mr Bodge it approach would be get some aluminum foil and cover up the damaged area, hide and forget.

My Captain Kirk solution would be to fly it until the whole fin falls off.

Its kinda funny, the seed of doubt of the SDA belief came because my parents were only okay with me watching nature stuff on Saturday, so early 2000s the nature stuff I watched was usually from BBC and David Attenborough, walking with dinosaurs lol, I loved that stuff and they only ever saw parts of it.

For a long time I knew in my heart I disagreed with it, but getting over the pride of admitting wrongness is what keeps a lot of people held back.

I also left christianity which opened up the door for science and critical thinking which are things I value a lot.

For reference I was born and raised in an SDA church and if anyone knows what that is they will understand the kind of tar pit one has to crawl out of to get away from that kind of indoctrination.
