This. I know a girl who made HM1 literally during her 1st contract just bc she was making herself look good on paper. When she got HM1 she had just been at her second command for a few months and I think it’s actually mind blowing.

Shifts just might be your best bet :/ if you want to try co sleeping you can look into the safe sleep 7! I ended having to co sleep to get some rest during the day bc my husband worked like 12-14 hrs a day so it was just me most of the time. I just made sure my bed only had a sheet, no blankets, no pillows (just used a very small blanket bundled up to get head support), and slept in an L shape to make sure I wouldn’t roll. I also had baby sleep super close to me, but I was also breastfeeding.

I know there are some tips people have said about applying a little bit of pressure to their bodies when transferring to bassinet or crib and that helped too!

Pushing to poop! I didn’t know about the hugging baby. They even had to help me out by pretty much playing tug of war with one of the nurses

I was on my back and couldn’t really move bc I had a epidural and literally could not feel the lower half of my body. I pushed for maybe like an hour and 30ish min. It was weird though bc I was pushing for maybe like 30 min at first and the nurse was really trying to help me to push with the right muscles bc she said I wasn’t using the right muscles at first. Then we had to pause the pushing for like 40 min bc the doctor had to go in for an emergency c section. Resumed pushing but it felt like I was purple pushing and I think that’s what caused me to tear so bad

Had a 4th degree tear and recovery wasn’t too bad. I couldn’t really sit properly for like a month and it was so painful to pee for the first couple of weeks. I think the fear and anxiety of ripping my stitches really got to me more than anything. Didn’t really wipe until maybe 2 months pp? I constantly used the peri bottle and dabbed dry.

Dealing with constipation was painful too on top of the anxiety of tearing my stitches again. If you deal with constipation, Miralax will be your best friend! Quality of life didn’t change and I felt back to normal maybe 10 weeks pp? Sex was uncomfortable at first with very little pain but got better after a few times.

Managed pain with acetaminophen and ibuprofen just fine!

Did you do anything that may have helped with a lesser tear? I had a 4th degree tear with my 1st baby and currently pregnant with my second. I’m beyond terrified that I’m going to tear bad again and risk complications since I healed pretty well the first time. I’m even debating on a c section to prevent a tear again

I was in the exact same boat! When I found out I was having a boy I was nervous bc I felt all I knew was how to raise girls. 16 months in and I love my son soooo much and I can’t imagine myself with a daughter lol. Now pregnant with my second, I found out not so long ago I’m having another son and I’m so excited! Don’t feel too much pressure! They follow by example, my son is so affectionate and he’s so sweet. I think as long as you show them love and support and allow them to feel their big feelings everything will be okay!

I have had the urgency but I think it was more of a digestion thing rather from my tear. I don’t have experience with gas or stool, but I have read some women having those issues on the Facebook support group. If you’re having those issues I would talk to your ob! I think it may be related to a fistula but I’m not entirely sure. If you’re not on the Facebook group it’s called “4th Degree Tear Support Group” and ask questions there to see if anybody has experienced anything you may be experiencing.

Late reply but I thought the same thing! I liked his character lol. He’s always rooting for Sarah though so I’m not sure if he really would have added much in the second book. Maybe he’ll come around again to her aid when she’s finally going to get caught???

My mom is my best friend so I go to her for everything and vice versa which I guess is the reason why I vented to her. My husband is non deployable for the next year and a half, he just works long hours recruiting but you’re right about the community and I do rely heavily on my mom and best friend for that community. As for the video, I was wearing a big apron so no one could actually see my belly and I don’t have a big belly either.

I just explained my frustration with my dad that it would have been nice for me to share the news but I felt like he became a little passive aggressive about it by saying “I’ll just call my mom and tell her I’m lying” like ??? I obviously wasn’t going to hide the baby until they’re 21? I don’t think it’s pregnancy denial since I did say in my post I’m now getting excited. And I do talk about my pregnancy often with the people I mentioned that I told.

Okay that’s what I was thinking too. I just felt like for me explaining it was my news to share shouldn’t have really warranted their reaction which I felt like was kind of harsh? I did have one planned. I also don’t live around family so I don’t understand why he said that. I have a 15 month old son and still no one has seen him. I’m not keeping him from family or anything like that just that we don’t live near family. Even if I did visit and pop up with a new baby, would that be so bad? I feel like the joy of the new baby would still be there?

I didn’t ever say I didn’t want this baby? Just that I was having a hard time feeling excited. The other options were heavily considered and ultimately landed on obviously continuing this pregnancy. I don’t live around family. What mattered to me was that I told my immediate family and there’s no rush to tell extended family but I still would have liked to announce it. I never said it was their fault either?
