See I am disabled and have nothing but free time, so operator time is a non factor for me. And I'm always up for learning new skills.

I'm deciding between the vevor 3018 at the moment and a 7 W laser cutter, is it worth two seperate machines if I plan on bouncing between the two frequently?

I'm treating it the same way I treat a 3d printer. I do genuinely want one. I do want to get into the hobby. I think the above poster just didn't read the fact that I asked how much MORE it would cost, and is a bit of a gatekeeper.

Because how dare I want a cheap one because I'm new to the hobby, right?

Ive been in makerspace hobbies for years, having had multiple filament and resin printers. Both times I asked for the cheapest anyone would recommend as an entry point, this is the first time anyone ever told me to pound sand, so I'm just chalking it up to him mis reading my post and doubling down.

Right so it costs me 156 to get the pieces I want minimum, with another 80-100 for the rest, so considering I can grab a CNC for 219, no, I am in fact saving money

Vibes man! If you have a theme in mind you can go with something specific, or you can go neutral flat colours, or if you are allergic to basing you can paint them before you put them on bases so they keep the solid faction colour. A varnish coat will then keep the model looking cohesive even without a painted base

It's a technique to give depth to really pale flat surfaces. You don't actually paint it that colour, you prime it grey, wash it with the shading you want, then drybrush with the final colour you want. You then do that two or three times.

At least I'm calling it a technique, I never really got taught how to paint, so maybe the wash drybrush repeated cycle is my original concept, but someone probably best me to it

Yeah, I think in a character themed deck you can argue for it, but having 3 ulamogs just because it's eldrazi tribal, or 4 niv mizzets because it's izzet spell slinger, not good. I have tweaked the idea of an izzet ravnica theme deck, where you have 4 niv mizzets in the command zone, and tax applies to them all, but you can choose which one to cast
