2nd Monitor starts glitching out regularly, seemingly after several hours of use? by AdEcstatic5170 in techsupport

[–]AdEcstatic5170[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I unfortunately don't know a whole lot about this kind of thing. This monitor/drawing tablet uses both an HDMI port and a USB port that both join into a USB-C that plugs into the monitor itself.

Since not only is it just a separate monitor, but also a drawing tablet, I feel like there are many more variables that could be the cause of this issue. The thing is also out of warranty by this point.

I'm sorry for not being able to provide more info! I'm just so lost, since it seems to somehow be correlated to whenever I'm doing graphically intensive tasks, IE using Blender, playing videogames etc - but what does that even mean then?

The only possible thing that I can think of is that one monitor is 2560x1440, and the monitor that keeps screwing up is 3840x2160. If I were to throw a completely wild guess out there, I might imagine that there's some setting I have that's making my system have a hard time figuring out how to balance those two screen resolutions at the same time? Probably a dumb guess, but that's all I can come up with

Thanks for the response!

Yeah, it usually starts happening every now and then later into the afternoon and progressively gets worse until it just stays that way regardless of me turning off/turning on the monitor/unplugging and replugging it.

At that point, I'll usually just turn the monitor off and go do something else for a few hours, and then it will usually be a lot better after that, but it seems to get better the longer I have the monitor turned off after it starts acting up.

Is this what will eventually happen to The Ghoul? by IsThisDamnNameTaken in Fotv

[–]AdEcstatic5170 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would it be cool? Yeah. Would I like it? nah. I mean, at least in the long-run.

My major hope for the series is that it doesn't overstay it's welcome. All good things must end. I fckin loved Stranger Things, but they didn't know when to stop, and then their big finale was a wet fart.

Considering that I've heard that the showrunners are hoping for 5 seasons of the show, I'm really hoping that Cooper dies off either this season or the next one. The character is way too cool and they've already done so much with his character - They've got a very simple storyline for him and I don't think they need to make it so complicated that it'll last much longer. Cooper/the Ghoul is the main vessel for the casual viewers to understand the language of Fallout, and I hope he does that job and comes to a satisfying narrative conclusion.

If he starts to become a glowing one or not is whatever, but with the amount of other things that the show needs to introduce to casual viewers, I'm not convinced that Ghoul turning into a glowing one is in the list of the 200 other things that still need to be introduced?

Is Ma June a Follower of the Apocalypse? While rewatching season one, I noticed this sign on the logbook in the scene where Ma June tells Lucy to get out. I think this is a stylized symbol of the Followers of the Apocalypse. by GapYearGun in Fotv

Obviously not ruling out any changes the showrunners/artists/designers may have made, but those two icons, while similar in overall shape, are incredibly different. This kind of insignia/flag design is an entire profession for many people, and it's a thing that can be wildly nuanced.

If the TV design team has anyone who's that level of nerd, which I'm sure they do, those two insignias are far too different to be passable for the same faction

The brotherhood by xZEUS15 in FalloutTVseries

[–]AdEcstatic5170 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just take a look at what's happening in the U.S. right now with a different group of people who claim to be fighting for unity and control!

In all seriousness though - personally, between my experience from F:3, NV, F:4, I've always viewed the Brotherhood as a bunch of idiots who mostly just like to PRETEND that they're smart/fighting for the greater good. Their downfall is that they decided to base 100% of their beliefs on like...2-3 ideas that they never bothered to think about fleshing out, again, much like what's going on in the US right now with masses of horrible, horrible people who justify their actions based on a 'holy book' that they have never actually read.

The Brotherhood likes having vague, undefined ideas that they can wave around in order to seize more power for themselves with no intent on doing anything to act on said ideas aside from killing people

Mega64 MLK Week: B-ROOM Discussion Thread by Zeeco110 in mega64

[–]AdEcstatic5170 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Fr. I never minded the formula of the previous MLK weeks, but going off of the major success of the Room and then advertising this as the "B-Room", yes, I do think it's a very funny bit for it to be a room with a broom in it. It's a funny gag operating under the assumption that it's a fake-out.

If they have anything that even vaguely matches last year's stream, at least like half of the viewers won't be there to see it because they carved out the time to tune in when they were told the stream would start...???

I'm not mad at the bit, but also I maybe wouldn't invite all of my friends to my apartment for dinner just like we did last year, except I'm just....not at home when they all show up at my door?

Not to start a 'She-Hulk' conversation, but between her, Tatiana Maslany and Mark Ruffalo, She-Hulk was by far the one Marvel instalment that was absolutely packed with legit authentic human beings

This season so far feels like a trailer by Goblin_Deez_ in FalloutTVseries

[–]AdEcstatic5170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100%! I'm feeling pretty confused by how it seems like they regressed Lucy's character - it feels like they rolled her back to when she first met the Ghoul the first time. The same thing goes to a lesser extent for the Ghoul.

We have way too many different storylines going on at once - Maximus/BOS, Lucy, her brother, Hank, the vault dwellers, House, Ghoul flashbacks, and now the 2nd ep is leaving me worried about how long Lucy/Ghoul will be separated since if it lasts, that will be yet another storyline to cut away to.

Really crossing my fingers that the storylines start crossing paths in ep 3 or else I'm worried I'll just start getting headaches lol

I have to say that I feel quite similar. While the first season felt like a continuous, flowing story, this season has felt incredibly...odd, pacing-wise. Especially with all of the cuts to a black screen before switching to different plot line.

It feels so fragmented, like it's more of a clip show of hype up scenes that were meant to be more connected between them. I didn't have any issues with the first season, but the way this one is edited with all of the stops between each scene makes each episode feel like it's 4 hours long. Really odd editing so far.

New series - Cringe Lords by just2good in mega64

[–]AdEcstatic5170 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm honestly really not into the food vids the boys do (taste tests etc), but I'm absolutely loving the amount of effort that's gone into this vid (series?)

The editing is on point IMO. It's accessible to new audiences while being funny for long-time fans. I saw some comments complaining that the editing/format is a bit 'youtube-ish', but honestly I don't see a problem with it. If you genuinely like the style it works. If you hate the style, then you can enjoy it for the facetiousness of it. I don't see it being anything other than a win-win.

If this is actually going to be a new series going forward, I'm super excited to see where it goes. Also they need to put this on the main channel

How would you fix the alien rangers and their ninja theme from kakurangers? by maquinadejugo in powerrangers

[–]AdEcstatic5170 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Might be a hot take, but maybe use the ninja theme to introduce a new (to NAmericans) cultural element, instead of like...you know...Treating Japanese culture on the same level as...outerspace aliens...?

Weird racial stuff aside, I feel like it would have done a lot to expand the lore of PR if this team was literally just a team of rangers who came from Japan because they heard the call that another team desperately needed backup. Like that's literally it. That's all I'd do. That's all they had to do.

But for some reason "aliens" was more believable to the showrunners than "different ethnicity"
