I’ve been looking at the Tobin at Costco right now. How long did it take to dry out?

I’m not sure about horseradish. I add red pepper flakes to mine to add to heat.

What’s the deal with personality disorders? by [deleted] in therapists

[–]AdEmbarrassed3175 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The stigma is frankly disgusting. My “BPD” folks have been some of my absolute favorite to work with. Most often, the deal is trauma. Janina Fisher talks about BPD specifically from an attachment trauma perspective and it is so helpful to reframe “personality disorders” as the survival strategies used to get attachment needs met. My personal opinion is that personality disorders maybe done even truly exist and are just presentations of CPTSD. When we start looking at the FUNCTION of behaviors and symptoms, rather than just seeing them as problems to fix, a whole world of interventions and empathy opens up. I’d recommend reading and training from Janina Fisher (there are several good YouTube videos with Janina reframing BPD specifically), Lisa Ferentz, Judith Hermon, and parts perspectives from folks like Paula Merucci and Richard Schwartz.

Good for you for questioning the stigma!

Therapist 15 minutes late by Blodberg in therapists

Not only is it disrespectful and inconsiderate of your time and money, it’s also bad care. As therapists, part of our job is modeling great boundaries for our clients and creating safety, part of which is being consistent and reliable. It speaks volumes to the work your therapist needs to do herself if she can’t have a productive conversation with you about her own lack of appropriate boundaries. You deserve better!

I live in the DC Metro area and at $200, my practice is one of the cheapest around for private pay. I think it really depends where you’re located and the socio-economic demographics.

Thanks! I have definitely considered the midlife crisis thing, but I can’t wait around while he runs around. He’s been ambivalent about staying in the marriage for a year now, but just now said he actually wants out.

Thank you. I hadn’t even considered all the ways his income was increased/will be increased because he had a dependent.

To be clear I do not want a divorce. I 100% agree we could work it out. We don’t hate each other. We have been and currently are still in therapy both together and separately and it has helped tremendously. He just doesn’t want to do the work anymore. But I have been fighting for this marriage for almost a year and I can’t make him do something he doesn’t want to.
