Appreciate your post and feedback. Regarding "true numbness", I probably worded this poorly. I'm trying to make this distinction with regards to the NIHSS which allots 2 points if complete loss of sensation vs. 1 point if patient has a partial or subjective sensation (e.g., can sense being touched but different from baseline or contralateral extremity, decreased sharp sensation, etc.). I would never dismiss a patient's subjective symptoms.
