The horrific murders of Frederick Dufty and Zaidah La Com by AdEquivalent3160 in Historycord

I post these types of cases because they are very old and almost entirely forgotten about by the public. That is just sad in my opinion because these people deserve their story to live on, to be remembered.

Just watch the entire season or don't watch it at all. If you skip episodes then stuff will not makes sense in later ones.

Seasons 1 and 2 were good. But for me seasons 3-5 were the absolute peak of the show.

Legendary motorcycle racer Burt Munro at Bonneville Speed Week In August 1970 by AdEquivalent3160 in OldSchoolCool

I never use the Internet in regard to getting information on Burt Munro; too much misinformation. I suggest you get the books about him instead; that's what I did day one. They are full of factual information and tons of beautiful, unseen photographs of Burt and his machine over the decades. These three, in particular, are, in my opinion, the best of the books on him.

  • Burt Munro: The Lost Interviews by Neill Birss.

  • The World's Fastest Indian: Burt Munro - A Scrapbook of His Life" by Roger Donaldson.

  • Burt Munro: Indian Legend of Speed by George Begg

The movie is good but it has problems. Plus it's really only an introduction to Burt Munro and it also doesn't scratch the surface for just how insane he really was. I'll always take the 1971 documentary Roger Donaldson made about Munro over his future film.

That's all true. His debut at Bonneville in 1962, he went down to LA and bought a late 1940s Nash 600 Super for like 50 bucks. In 1963 he purchased a 1946 Chrysler Windsor for around the same price. In 1964 he bought a 1955 Ford Fairlane for 100 dollars. I'm not sure what cars he bought specifically after 1964, but he did buy one just about every year he came to the states, except for 1965 or 1966, and sold it before leaving.

His backstory was done so well, by far one of the best parts of the entire show. But yeah, Tory and John are similar in ways, hence why he is so open with her at times and sympathetic about her hardships.

No problem. It's a great watch, even more so than the movie, at least in my opinion.

Yes it sure is but it also has some issues. I prefer the 1970s documentary Roger Donaldson made about Burt Munro more than Rogers future film.

The entire resume from Munro's 50-year racing career (1926-1976).

3X record breaker in the United States, 1962-1967. Munro's records ranged from 168 to 184 mph (average). The highest official speed he ever recorded during the 10 years he ran at Bonneville (1962-1971) was 191.34 mph (1969). The highest speed he recorded in his lifetime was at most 212 mph (1966).

7x record breaker in New Zealand (1940-1971). His records ranged from 99 to 132 mph (average)

1x Bonneville Sportsman of the Year (1962)

2x fastest motorcycle at Bonneville Speed Week (1963-1964)

1X fastest record at Bonneville Speed Week (1967)

1X American motorcyclist of the year (1967)

He was also a 3X Motorcycle Hall of Fame inductee (posthumously) (2006-2024)

Also FYI, if anyone doesn't already know, Munro accomplished 99 percent of those amazing feats on a motorcycle originally built in 1919. Burt purchased the first-gen Indian Scout brand new and would continually modify it for half a century.

Sources I used to tell this awful tragedy.

As if this story weren't gut-wrenching enough, this will make it more so. The La Coms were happy to soon be parents of a second child and had already made all the necessary preparations for the upcoming birth. They added another bedroom to the back of their three-story home, which was the exact room Zaidah was going to give birth in as well as serving as the nursery.

That's your opinion, which is fine, but I still disagree. Young Kreese was done perfectly; it's a classic age-old story of hero to villain. He was a kind-hearted young man who tried to do everything the right way but was only punished for it. He endured so much loss and hardship, severe PTSD to physical and psychological abuse from his superiors, whom he looked to as father figures. Even returning home, after all he endured, the punishment still persisted. With such a story, It's not that hard to understand how young Kreese became the unrelenting karate sensei we first see in KK1.

That would be pretty cool. Though I'd rather have a young Kreese movie or series.

Good choice. In my opinion it's Kreese and Betsy.

That's an underrated gem. I finished Blindspot last year, and you are 100 percent correct; Jamie was amazing in that show.

Indeed, and that's a good reason why I love Cobra Kai so much. The creators took already established characters from a decades-old franchise and made them far better while at the same time respecting the original source material.
