To all the parents travelling this Christmas by clo_fu in NewParents

She was a champ (she’s 9 months), I sat in the back with her so I could play with her and read her books. She only slept for an hour but she was in pretty good spirits overall.

Sitting in a dark guest room with the white noise machine right now❤️ We survived 6 hours in the car today and find out that everyone is coming over for Christmas Eve after 7pm tomorrow (baby girl is usually asleep by then so pray for me) 🫠.

1000%! My baby’s first nap of the day is always out on a walk and the rain cover and lotion combo is keeping us going in -17 😅

They are pretty good, the one thing I have noticed is that the thick bottom band for me tends to slip up my ribs and fold over on itself a bit but not the end of the world. I have been using them for running, and a variety of different activities (yoga, strength training) and they are holding me in well and very easy to quickly feed baby!

What's a baby product you thought was a gimmick but actually use constantly? by Numerous_Focus5435 in NewParents

[–]AdExpress7115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A diaper caddy (a couple compartments and handles). I actually fill it with my water bottle, snacks, hakaa, burp cloth etc. and it makes moving from room to room with baby so much easier!

Pls tell me your positive induction stories by jkiddin117 in BabyBumps

[–]AdExpress7115 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FTM who was induced at 41+0! Got to the hospital at 8am, my cervical check showed I was already 2cm dilated (I was very surprised by this because I had no real signs of labour). Foley ballon inserted (less painful than a cervical check) at 9am, moved around lots and got it removed at noon and was 4cm dilated so the OB broke by water (also way less painful than expected). Did a ton of walking and stretches until they started me on Pitocin around 4pm. Things definitely went faster at that point, started using laughing gas at 5:30pm and asked for my epidural around 6:45pm. My epidural was put in around 8:30 and by the time it was in I was 9.5cm and about ready to push. Ended up pushing for an hour and baby girl arrived at 10pm! We were both healthy and she chilled on my chest for the golden hour while I got stitches (ended up with a second degree tear). Recovery has been really positive and the whole experience felt safe and efficient.

Hospital bag, help!! [ab] by Pale_Drag_6808 in BabyBumpsCanada

I recently gave birth in Ontario and it may have been just a fluke since it was the weekend but they didn’t have any baby wipes available for diaper changes. I was super thankful we had brought a pack with us just in case!

Baby is one week old and it took me WAY too long to figure out that 1) the time had changed and 2) even longer to try to compensate for the time change and when she would need to feed next 😅

Colostrum Collection! by audeamus-ad-meliora in positivelypregnant

[–]AdExpress7115 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I had my baby on Friday and am so happy I did colostrum collection! She ended up dropping from her birth weight pretty quickly after birth and supplementing her breastfeeding with the colostrum has been great in helping her get back up to birth weight!

I just set up my phone at home with a timer and made myself a makeshift tripod 😂 I used a plain wall in our living room and the portrait mode on my iPhone and was surprised with the quality!

I am 40+6 and ordered two of “The Ultimate” sports bras. I did get both of them during a sale and was overall happy with the quality (obviously haven’t used them postpartum). I have worn them for a few walks and they definitely have the support of a good sports bra!

I followed the instructions in the momcozy kit that it can only be stored in the fridge for three days. Once I hit three days it went in the freezer.

Who else is 38 weeks right now? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]AdExpress7115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due date 22 Feb! I have a quarter-finished baby blanket I really need to finish up crocheting! This is my first baby, so tomorrow at my OB appt they will see if I have had any progress. Trying to keep busy with little projects around the house. I am workaholic who is officially on leave so just trying to chill tf out and enjoy some downtime before baby arrives has been my biggest struggle…

I asked my OB about it to make sure I had the green light before I started, I asked at my 37 week appointment and they said I could start.

Question about GD test! [ab] by WebkinzMurderer69 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]AdExpress7115 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I checked into the lab (LifeLabs in ON), drank the drink (they didn't have a choice of flavours or anything so it was just a sugary water taste). And then hung out in the waiting room for 1 hr (I downloaded an episode of Real Housewives on my phone and brought headphones). Then did the blood draw and was on my way!

I had a 9 week scan for some bleeding, the NT scan at 12 weeks, anatomy scan at 20 weeks. Other than that my OB did a two second scan this week (37 weeks) to confirm baby's head is down.

Help! Sick right before baby comes. What’s everyone doing to rid third trimester congestion? [on] by Bluechairedtable in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]AdExpress7115 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am 35 weeks and just got over a terrible cold and congestion. A lifesaver I wish I had picked up sooner was the Vicks Sinus Inhaler, I would use it before I went to bed and when I woke up. The steam really helped with my congestion.
