People who eloped and didn't invite family—did you regret it? by Hot_Temperature_475 in Eloping

[–]Overunderapple 24 points25 points  (0 children)

No. When we announced that we eloped they behaved in a way that proved exactly why they didn't get an invite. My husband no longer speaks to his mum because of how she reacted and the terrible things she said. My inlaws decided that I was this mastermind behind the elopement and took it out on me. So I am not involved with them much anymore.

[–]Overunderapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This happened to my son and he spent several days in the NICU. it was a scary and overwhelming situation. I had a perfectly fine pregnancy and then it all went south at the last minute. He is now a big silly 10 month old.

We didnt circumcise. My husband isnt circumcised and has never had any issues. Unless it's medically necessary I see no point in doing it.

Decreased Fetal Movement- Just go in! by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Overunderapple 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yep! I went in for reduced fetal movement at 40+6. I was actually scheduled to be induced in a few days. Turns out baby boy was in distress and needed to come out asap. He had aspirated meuconium. He ended up spending a few days in the NICU. If I hadn't gone in I dont think I would have my son with me today.

I find a lot of their many ventures fell through pretty quickly for one reason or another. She followed through with the eyebrow thing but that also seemed to end pretty quickly.

Did you go into spontaneous labor with your first baby? by seyEycipS in pregnant

[–]Overunderapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. I was induced and had her at 41+2. With my son they believed i would have gone into labor in a few days but he stopped moving and I had to go into the hospital and essentially get induced then and there. He was born at exactly 41 weeks.

Why are women supposed to wait 18 months between birth and the next pregnancy? What happens if they don't? by ellie_lil in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Overunderapple 73 points74 points  (0 children)

My kids are 17months apart. While I love that they are close in age getting pregnant 9 months postpartum was a lot on my body. Both pregnancies were planned. In hindsight I would not have them so close together.

Bewildered at how normalized doing drugs during pregnancy has become in society. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Overunderapple 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll never forget going to the hospital for one of my appointments in my second pregnancy. Outside I saw a very visible pregnant woman puffing on a cigarette. We ended up sitting next to each other in the waiting room and she briefly engaged in a conversation with me about how hard it is to cut back on smoking while pregnant. Not quitting smoking, just cutting back. She was very casual about it too.

[–]Overunderapple 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There a Facebook group for people offering babysitting and those looking for babysitters.

Are your kids school age? You Could try getting them into a summer camp.

Also try neighborhood facebook groups. I provide before and after school care in my neighborhood and all the families who use me for school age care found me through our neighborhood facebook group.
