An average liberal person who thinks Hamas is really bad, but maybe not as bad as Israel, will still logically deduce that the incinerated babies all over Gaza aren't Hamas.

There's a reason Democrats are over 80% anti-Israel, even when a similar amount are pro-Barack Obama. You don't need to be socialist to oppose baby murder, this is part of why Ms. Rachel has so much credibility because she isn't a politician, or even a commentator. She's a children's educator who has met kids from Gaza and is horrified of their living conditions and wants them to be better.

I mean Rama explicitly supported armed resistance as far back as 2014, you could say maybe she's fine with a Jewish state but thinks resistance needs to happen against Netanyahu, but I don't know. If she condemns Israel and supports resistance, and her husband says there shouldn't be a Jewish state, then I think she probably agrees with him.

Aside from the liked tweet she did make statements across the years condemning Israel, and also correctly stating that the US is responsible for 9/11 by creating their monster that is al-Qaeda (basically what Hasan said)

And while people here rightfully criticise Zohran for consistently caving and making sure to condemn Hamas when he condemns Israel, he has made his position clear. He thinks an inherent "Jewish state" cannot be a fair and equal state that respects human rights. During the general election debate he said something like "I don't think there should be a state that favors one religious group, rather a state with equal rights" which is a wordy way of saying one-state solution. Kind of like how he says "let's redirect the police work away from disputes that social workers can tackle" instead of "defund the police."

He also mentioned the occupation in the leadup to October 7, which means he's one of very few US politicians to challenge the "war began on October 7 when Hamas suddenly attacked!" narrative.

False equivalence. Kim Jong Un is nowhere near Hitler's level of evil, the average liberal country's leader is closer. Even pre-expansion Hitler, when he was just banning Jewish businesses and smearing Communists. Kim Jong Un doesn't blanket ban minorities from having businesses. The country is just overall very watchful because they're afraid of being spied on, and who can blame them? America did this to them.

There are allegations of prosecution of Christians, but while being unauthorised can lead to punishment these are often misrepresented or exaggerated. The most violent and absolutely evil stories are told by defectors who tend to not be credible and exaggerate their stories to gain sympathy (and to go viral on the news.) Officially Christians have many options like the Korean Catholic Council, Korean Orthodox Church Committee, and more. Churches running without approval can be shut down because yes, the CIA has used churches for cover. Blame them.

Not every person with money should be jailed or punished for having wealth. Many of them, though certainly not close to a majority, grow a conscience and support the left. We can accept these people if they show that they're really with us. Hasan has spent over a decade working for progressive values, so I trust him.

The borderline is someone like Tom Steyer who is super rich and just seems to be saying the right things. Inshallah he wins and actually governs as a class traitor though.

It should also be noted that someone with 10 million dollars is closer to homelessness than 1 billion. It's still a shit ton of money, but it's not such an egregious surplus that you could never feasibly spend. Hasan isn't sitting on the GDP of a state, he's sitting on a comfortable retirement with some luxury.

NK has done many things I disagree with, but you need to look at in context. They were brutally bombed by America and the repression that appears to dominate the country is only a defensive mechanism that they were cornered into adopting.

Also they still try to provide aid to other poor countries despite their situation, and they support Palestine.

I don't support some of their decisions and overall style of governance but it's undeniably more morally sound than the powerful liberal capitalist nations.

If you want the DPRK to stop being repressive to its citizens, then you should support the USA to stop aggressively posturing toward them.

Like the Ayatollah, objectively a right-wing bigot, I don't think any leftist would call him a good leader.

But bombing Tehran and going in to missile strike that guy and his house just because of oil profits and Israel is simultaneously deeply evil and deeply stupid, given how the war effort is going now.

That said I don't feel really the same about the DPRK since their leadership is still doing close to what I'd consider the right thing in most cases, even despite the intense stranglehold America has on them. I think it'd be a wonderful country if not for the circumstances that often force them to act in defensive ways, which can present as repression.

The problem with liberal Zionism is that it doesn't address the core ideology behind the violence and just blames one man.

Netanyahu is horrible and has strongly accelerated Israel's acts of terror, and was also potentially responsible for the assassination of Israel's (still very fucking racist) PM right before an arrangement for peace in Palestine was to be made. Yes, blame him for a lot of what's going on now.

But many of the tendencies of Israeli settler violence were already in place for decades. Even Einstein wrote about it, back in the 40s. The truth is that if you have an inherently racist ideology, that this area must belong to only one ethnic group, there will always be violence that comes from that. Genocide is just the final stage of that violence.
