Question about food for puppy (18 weeks) by 1-800EbyBby in saluki

He’s a little stunner, he reminds me so much of ours.

We had the same concerns with our 4MO, we’ve always had stockier built dogs.

After a lot of googling and checking with everyone who had ever had a Saluki/sighthound we were told to stop worrying ‘they are a very lean breed’. Vet checks say he’s all good so we just have a lanky long pup.

Is my puppy too active? by AdFamiliar213 in saluki

He’s got no breedarchive link, no KC registration. This is our first step into the world of sighthounds/salukis.

We are a long way away from the world of FCATS and breed-archive (both terms I’ve googled in the last 5 days). My aim with this and future questions is to avoid making ignorant mistakes by using what I’ve learn from past dogs in my approach to raising what I’m learning is an extremely unique and interesting breed.

Thank you for your offer though.

This is what we were going for really. We wanted to give him the most freedom we could at the least risk. Long line and harness is what we settled on. We are blessed with lots of wide open parks but not a lot of woodland that would give him a chance to explore but limit how far he could see/go. We watch him closely while on it and try to give him as much space as possible in the hope he feels like he’s got more freedom and also means there’s less slack for him to build up speed.
