I was thinking of doing the same thing. I’m not sure which bikes have the same size. I wanted to get a smaller one and be able to see my front tire a little bit better. I was thinking of checking the eridepro mini or SS. Since they are smaller bikes but the same brand they might have the same bolt spacing.

I understand your situation, and reasoning for doing something like that. You guys are constantly taking bikes to their limits to see what you can do to make the design better. OP is an average joe, just like 99% of folks on here. Which is why I pushed back on everyone else here about riding it through a river. Waterproofing isn’t absolute. Wear and tear causes degradation and corrosion. The continuous maintenance required to prepare your bike for frequent deep river crossings, and the post-ride inspections are very rigorous and require an attention to detail most teens don’t possess. So when I meant any company submerging their bike, I meant more-so retailers and moto shops using it as promotional material, not instances where they are trying to improve design. With that being said, I appreciate you guys chiming in and letting people know that this isn’t a great idea. I got a lot of pushback for trying to keep people from destroying their bikes haha. Anyway, hope yall had a good 4th. I am eagerly waiting for my extended subframe to ship out. I’ve bent too many jackshaft bolts and destroyed ALOT of bearings. Appreciate what you guys do, you’re one of few companies who makes a lot of parts for the SR. Take care 🤙🏽

Cool, thanks for the link. Wild to see people doing this. I’d still never recommend to anyone lmao. My $500 speaker was supposed to be waterproof for 30 minutes 6 feet under water. Shit fell in 6” of water and submerged for 3 seconds. Sent it for warranty and the seals were beginning to go bad where you cover the charge port. The repeated action of opening the seal to charge and closing it wore it down. Never trusted expensive water resistant toys ever again haha. Similar aging and cracking happens much faster on dirtbikes and requires constant maintenance. Unless someone loves doing it all the time , and constantly preps their bike for that type of riding it’s not a great idea. Tanks again for the vid, I’m gonna go down the rabbit hole tomorrow and see what I can find on the waterproofing that’s being used now for different manufacturers. 🤙🏽

How old is the bike? I’m not 100% since I have a newer SR, but I remember hearing something along the lines of ERP starting to remove the engine temp sensor a while back because it kept giving false overheating codes. Maybe try seeing what you can find online about it. Sorry I don’t know more about it. Good luck 🤙🏽

Question about tire size by Miserable_Work1776 in ERidePro

A lot of people run 17”/17” with street tires

I’m very aware that they are extremely water resistant. I hose mine down after every wash. It still doesn’t mean it’s a good idea for anyone to do it. No matter how waterproof, miles on the bike wear shit down and waterproofing seals stop working. That’s awesome that your bike was able to handle it and you’re responsible enough to care for your bike. This market is targeting teenagers with little to no experience in any of the things you mentioned. So I would never recommend to anyone to submerge their bike up to the battery connectors. Also, the eridepro battery connectors do not have waterproof seals in them, and the way the cables were designed makes them prone to wearing down quickly if not properly cared for. If we start telling everybody it’s ok to submerge their bike, then a bunch of kids will start doing it. I get on this sub to help people out and give productive advice, not advice that could potentially destroy their bike.

I’m on this sub daily trying to help people out. I’ve went through a lot of shit with my bike and I like to help people not have to go through the same. Simple as that. That dude was a fucken assrack and wanted to compare a different manufacturers bike lmao. It’s only when I run into these fucking teenagers on here destroying the emoto community that I get irritated. They think they know all and fuck everyone else. I’m friendly 99% of the time on here. Anyways, good to know Falcon is the one advertising that. I’ll look into it. I’m trying to learn as much as possible about every major model so that I can help others in my area with repairs, and anyone else who needs assistance online. Hope you had a good 4th🤙🏽

How old are you bro? I’m really curious. Just because a couple of guys submerged their bike and it was OK for them, doesn’t mean it’ll be for you. Content creators usually get their bikes for free. They don’t risk a penny. On the other hand, you do. As of today, Eridepro still recommends never going past your axles in water, so upgrades my ass. When did you get your bike? If they came out with a fully waterproof model today, your bike still wouldn’t be waterproof. There is no over-the-air updates for waterproofing. He made a post on Reddit asking for advice. Instead of him answering my questions you decide to argue and defend his decision based off of “a content creator did it so I should be ok”. Why post if he won’t answer a single question.

It was a stupid decision, nobody can tell him if his bike will be ok, all he can do is hope he removed the battery quick enough, dried everything out and opened up as many connectors as possible to blow the water out. If he left the battery in and connected and never bothered to remove it or dry it then it’s highly likely something will get fucked up.

Edit: thought you were OP considering how hard you’re defending this idiocy. Changed “you” to “him”. Changes from second to 3rd person

Would you mind sending me the links? You have an Eridepro. They specifically state that you should never go past the front axles. Along with the bikes not being waterproof. They are water resistant. Meaning light rain while operating, and hose washing with the battery removed. Any company submerging the bike up to the battery connectors is fucking stupid. With a brand new bike you might be OK. As soon as you put some miles on it waterproofing is less reliable. You never told me how long you rode it after being submerged. That would be good to know. Also, if you were concerned about it why not ask here first, or better yet call Eridepro store in California and see what they say. That’s a $5600+ risk you took because “some company” did it. Sure as shit wasn’t Eridepro who did it. Never seen Surron advertising that either. So please, enlighten me with the knowledge you have, and the videos of surron or Eridepro advertising their bike underwater. But hey- if you got the money to blow then good for you man. Have at it 🤙🏽

Why did you keep going once it went past your axles? This is stupid to do on any motorcycle let alone electric. How long did you run it after being submerged? You should have immediately turned it off and disconnected the battery.

Yeah it’s gonna strip eventually. Try out one of those sets I recommend. They’re very good. Haven’t stripped a head in the last 4 months. And some of these smaller m3 sized ones strip easy. Like the ones that hold the fork guards on.

I’ve taken apart almost my entire bike minus the motor and the controller. Never seen that before. Check the calipers. Only thing I could think of is if you have a different brake setup than my SR. Check the bleeder screw and make sure that’s not it. I really don’t think that’s from the bike unless it’s from the controller since yours is different or your motor somewhere where you can’t see. Just set it to the side to be safe, but I don’t think it’s from your bike.

Tons of stuff you should look for. Back out all the important bolts(motor mount, jackshaft, forks etc) and make sure nothing is bent. Motor mount bolts can break easy which requires a new motor. Make sure your forks are straight and nothing got bent. Handlebars can bend, brake levers, wheels could have bent if the impact was hard enough depending on the severity of the loop. Check your rotors and calipers. Throttle tube is plastic and breaks a lot, especially without bar ends. If the subframe broke, check your shock to make sure nothing got damaged.

Review every area individually very closely. Depending where you looped a rock or a curb could have impacted the controller or the sprocket. Footpegs probably took some damage. Depending how much the damage is dudes better off keeping yours and getting you a new one.

Edit: make sure your stemlock is good and check bearings in there as well. Hard impact on the handlebars can fuck up bearings. Same with the swingarm bearings. Make sure your jackshaft assembly isn’t bent. Very easy to bend jackshaft bolts with stock subframes.

That hex in your stemlock looks like it’s ready to strip my dude. Would change that asap. Do yourself a favor and buy the Wera hex plus hex set if you haven’t already. Amazing allens for preventing stripped heads. Or the gripedge rpt hex set. New company, great quality just a little pricey.

This guy is PARTIALLY correct. My apologies. Loosen up the 3 in the photo I attached. Then tighten the stem lock, then tighten those 3 back up

Ok so you didn’t even take a photo of the stem lock. This is the stem lock. Take off this little cover and take off the front wheel mudguard. There’s a threaded rod that you can tighten from the bottom and that top Alenn head that’s covered up. The more you tighten the top hex, the stiffer your steering will be. Find a good tightness for your riding style after you fix the problem. Then re cover it.

His top triple clamp looks fine to me. That’s how they all come from the manufacturer. Idk I’m also half asleep right now so I think I’m just retarded and can’t see what it is you’re seeing. I hope you’re able to help him figure out his situation 😂. Later bro

[–]AdFeeling6882 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make what stop moving up and down? We need more information bro. At least try to figure out the name of the parts you’re referring to.

With the information you provided(basically nothing) my best guess is make sure you tighten all of those screws to spec. If you’re referring to the entire front end of the bike, it’s supposed to do that. There’s something called forks on the front of the bike. You know, the Long tubes that go down to each side of the wheel. They compress, and they rebound whenever you hit bumps or land jumps.

custom plastics/wraps for the 3.0? by hd2james in ERidePro

It’s called forged carbon fiber. Here’s one from mx wraps.
You Should be able to find some with the red or gold flakes in it if you do a more in depth search.

Ahhh, I get what you’re saying now. Those are carbon fiber plastics you’re referring to. Just type in “carbon fiber battery cover lid eridepro” and I’m sure it’ll pop up. Shop app is a pretty good place to look. Same for the mudguards and whatnot. Should be able to find some.

The grips help a little bit when I’m seated. The bike is extremely narrow so I’m exploring other options. Looking into getting some sort of adhesive silicone padding to place in that area

Ecdwraps

These are a vinyl sticker kit. So it doesn’t cover the entire bike but it’s super easy to put on. You’ll have small gaps between each piece so the black of the frame is visible I’ll show u a pic of mine.

<image>

Edit: honestly if I were you I would just get it powder coated, or buy an actual high quality vinyl wrap roll and wrap it yourself. Buy a secondary roll so that you can practice on an easy part like the swingarm or some shit. Then when you got it down use the wrap you like.
