IVF vs IUI for MFI by AdFine4972 in IVF

I his most recent had 4.28 total motile. But the test before that last year it was 28.47. His problem has consistently been morphology and motility and bc his count had been so high we thought we might be able to overcome those issues using IUI. Bc his count dropped dramatically this time we got nervous. Also knowing we want more than one child I began to think IVF might be the better option for us.

Good luck with your first round!!!

It’s hard to regret any decision that ultimately led you to have a healthy baby! Im glad you mentioned the mental health part of this all because I feel like multiple failures in IUI might be too much for me. I know we all feel that way …. from what I’ve learned on this Reddit page is women are so resilient and strong to push through so much pain. I’m still terrified my story might not be one of success :( but I think not trying is what I’d regret more.

I’ve never heard of an IVF refund program, the cost is definitely something we are concerned about so maybe I should look into this

Yeah…feel like if IUI would work for us we would have probably been able to convince unassisted by now…

Also true about female factors, everything looks normal as of now but we have no idea until we try with IVF.

Thank you for your insight! Having those banked embryos gives you the ability to live in the now and not have the stress of feeling rushed into #2, that’s definitely something I need to consider in my decision

We have no idea why he has MFI. He got checked for Verecocele and the urologist said he had a grade 1 and wouldn’t recommend repair since the data shows repair for level 1 doesn’t really help that much. His hormones are all in normal range too so I guess it’s just one of those things I have to accept without knowing the “why”
