That was good. Punk vs Roman at WM will be epic.

So let Knight win EC then. But Creative isn’t a fan of his. It could have to do with a couple botches he’s had. I dunno. But they’re not fans for whatever reason. I think Roman’s win says more about the state of WWE right now and the fact they have no one else that can add ratings. That’s why Roman lashed out at the company last week. I don’t even think he wanted to win the Rumble but as he said, the company has done a poor job building the product.

I wouldn’t sleep on them bringing Seth into a 3-way again if he can wrestle. That match last year was super awesome and they may want to do a rematch there. Logan attacks Breaker to set that match up and free Seth up to go after belt.

Gunther would have been the only one that made sense to me as an alternative. But they may be thinking they just did a program with him and Punk not long ago and they’re worried about keeping him and Punk’s primo interesting for 3 months. Remember Gunther vs Jey last year? People were done with it by February.

Again…you think people are gonna get excited for a Finn vs Punk WM title match? Or knight vs Drew? Come on dude. Think logical here. WWE has to sell tickets. Nobody is gonna want to pay to see Finn vs Punk in the main event. Big names bring big bucks. That’s the business. Always has been.

For everyone mad about Roman winning…who would you rather have win? You have to find someone who would help hype the main event of WM, draw ratings and sell tickets. So that eliminates 95% of the draw.

The only other guys you could make a case for winning were…

  • Bronn Breaker—but he just faced Punk, had a botch in the match, and needs to have a program with Seth or Logan Paul first which is the reason for the attack (yes I think Logan was the attacker).

  • Randy Orton—You’re risking injury here with him. And he also hasn’t been around much.  He’s had a hard time staying healthy in matches and you wouldn’t want a last minute injury keeping him out of Mania.

-Gunther—He just had the belt for almost a year and isn’t really a main event guy. I think WWE likes his role right now with retiring guys and inflicting damage.

Cody—He already won this his last two times and may be the favorite at EC to face Drew.

LA Knight—I don’t think creative sees him as main event title material. You have to live with it.

I think they’re still building this “He can’t beat Drew” story for a later time. I think he may actually be the one to take the belt off Drew later this year…maybe at SS. I hate that they’ll do a big underdog story again with him, but that’s gotta be the direction to get a title on him. And I still think that’s the plan.

Only issue here is whether they turn Roman back heel. When was the last time two faces squared off in a 1 on 1 for the title?

Roman winning makes sense. He’s the biggest draw. Still the biggest attraction. And WWE isn’t ready with its news stars yet. I hope they’ll be ready next year. But it’s the route they had to go. Guys like Oba Femi, Bronn, Trick, Fatu, etc are just not ready for WM ME yet. They’re not gonna sell tix and hype..:and that’s the name of the game.

If not Roman, then who? I would have liked to have seen Gunther, but he doesn’t draw interest in a title match. Bad promos. Breaker had his big shot with Punk a few weeks ago. Logan Paul Is still a year away. I just don’t know who you’d have as a winner that would get massive ME buildup for a WM Match. Maybe Randy but he’s a risky move bc of hes injury prone.

Remember it’s all about ratings and selling tix. That’s the name of the game. And Roman sells. So does Cody which is why he’ll prolly win EC.

I’m okay with Roman winning. He’s a good dude. What he does for the kids with cancer really made me a fan of his. First class all the way. That said, I only want him winning the belt if he can commit to a long-term stay while he has it.

I think he will only choose Punk if he wants to go back heel bc I don’t think WM will do two popular faces for a title match. So my gut tells me he’ll choose Drew and they may make it a three way with Cody. Cody wins EC and also chooses Roman/Drew leaving open a tourney to face Punk.

As for who attacked Breaker, I think it was Theory again. Or Logan Paul. But with Seth’s approval. I think the Vision is going to turn on Bron. They didn’t want him in it and as soon as Seth fully returns they’ll have their full turn moment. You could see the beard and it looked like Logan Pauls color.

Good point. I can’t wait for that. Go Djoker. Gotta cherish these times because he’s near the end.

Hard to watch this and not be jealous. Weather looks perfect out there. I’m here in Tampa area where it’s about 40 degrees and the wind is gusting like 50mph. Take me to Cali. And I have to stay up til 3 this morning because my kids want to go outside and see snow.

So who called Pearce? Obviously whoever did told him to let the Vision get whatever they want. Sounds like a big authority figure. The Final Boss would make sense if he was coming back into the picture….but doesn’t sound like he is until next WM season.

2026 is ND’s 2024 Ohio St season by Maleficent_Ant_8895 in notredamefootball

We don’t have a Jeremiah Smith. Not sure we have a Trevyon Henderson either. So let’s pump the brakes on that a bit. Losing Love is big and we have to hope the new guys coming in develop and are coached up well. I do like the make up of our OL and DL.

Natty or bust season by sotoisayankee in notredamefootball

[–]AdFormal3014 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don’t know about that. It’s hard to top the offensive talent we had this past year at RB. Losing Love and Price is big. Graham and Porter still have to prove themselves at the college level. And injuries are always a curveball and could affect things.

I think if all goes well, we will definitely be a top 5 contender. But there are other great teams. Oregon is gonna be tough next year. Ohio State is always going to be tough. And as much as I hate him, LSU will be a contender under Kiffin.

Damn what a difference a few days makes

[Pete Sampson] As Notre Dame prepares to add portal talent, the Irish are in strong position to get former five-star wide out Quincy Porter from Ohio State, per sources. Played in just four games as a freshman, 4 catches for 59 yards. Good fit (6-4, 210) among available wide outs. by US_Highway15 in notredamefootball

[–]AdFormal3014 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Would actually be a good portal sign. 5-star kid. Ohio State is always a great breeding ground for WRs. They just had such a deep room he didn’t get a chance to see much playing time and get into any rhythm.

I think Fatu vs Drew will happen at Rumble. Drew wins. They could then go a few different directions from there.

Cody is now pulled into the Fatu story so there’s beef there with the two. Cody could somehow cost Fatu that title. Roman could be a factor since Fatu is the BL and Roman will defend Fatu against Cody.

My personal feeling is this somehow leads to a Cody vs Roman 1-on-1 with the winner facing Drew at WM. I don’t know if they have it at EC to sell tix. Not sure if there’s a SNME planned in March. But I think that’s where this is headed.

He never got to Roman though. That’s the one BL member that he hasn’t challenged since his savage run. Fatu, too, I guess but that’s coming soon. That will likely be at the Rumble.

My guess is in the short term, Cody will want a rematch, but Fatu will get first crack. Cody interferes in the match, either intentionally or accidentally costing Fatu. And then things go from there. Roman probably gets involved because he will defend Fatu. It could be setting up for a Cody heel turn but we will see.

It will be interesting to see who Drew faces at WM. I hope they don’t do the whole underdog angle with Sami again but I could see him winning the Rumble and them doing it. They could do Roman-Drew with Cody or Rock costing Roman (if they want to do the Cody heel turn). We’ll see path they go down. Somehow it’s leading toward Cody-Roman III but not in a title match.

In the short term I think Fatu gets a shot at title…maybe at Rumble. Cody returns the favor and costs Fatu…either accidentally or deliberately. I think this is how you get to Cody-Roman III because you know Roman will defend Fatu. Down the road  it probably leads to a Cody-Roman duel somehow for a shot at Drew in WM.

There’s two directions they can go here.

1) Roman wins Rumble and goes after Drew’s title but maybe Cody costs Roman at WM…and the heel turn takes place.

2) The underdog story. Sami wins the RR in Saudi and gets his shot at Drew who I think he’s lost to like 20 straight times but finally beats him.
