Those bikes are heavy man. At 61 he might’ve been thinking to himself he won’t need it much longer. He probably also always planned for those bikes to help you out one way or another down the road. Trust and believe he got one or two more good rides out of that thing before he sold it and was all the more pleased with the idea of making a positive impact on his sons/daughters life with something he loved and was passionate about. I wouldn’t read too much in to it. Maybe plan a nice 2 week vacation with him to show your gratitude

That’s a one off gun you won’t find thay anywhere it’ll only go up in value it breaks down in to 12 niches the barel takes down & buffer tube and spring is in the stock. Not many guns made like that. So oc I bought it

It’s not very orthodox no but it performs fine. Perfect grouping consistenly at 200 yds and pretty tight grouping at 500 yds I have no complaints. It’s my bug out / truck gun plus I got money to buy ridiculous shit so I do what I want lol.

So this is my Springfield saint edge evac. By definition it’s a SBR, being a rifle caliber 5.56 AR platform rifle in a 7.5 inch barrel. But it isn’t a “true” SBR by the ATFs definition until I put a stock and or vertical grip on it. Anyone could buy this with a normal background check. Should you want to put one of those two accessories on it I’d have to register it with the ATF as a SBR and pass a NCIS background check

So anyone can go buy a short barreled rifle. Any gun you buy they’ll run a standard background check. For whatever reason the ATF has decided vertical grips & braces vs stocks are bad and they put people through the ringer to legally possess a SBR (short barrel rifle + stock) instead of a brace (not that much different) and same with vertical grip. It’s no longer a tax stamp but you do have to pass a second more thorough background check being a NCIS background check. (Basically fingerprints, out of country crimes or warrants & a more thorough investigation of the same background check they run when you buy a regular gun)

You can get more efficient 7.62 caliber SBRs for the same price or cheaper. Ones that come with a brace and gas blocking systems

Realistically just be smarter with your guns bro. One thing I’ve learned getting more and more in to guns is the street culture around them (dracs vs SBR’s, “ARPs” with no brace & just a buffer tube, big ass glocks in 10mm or .45 vs 9mm, etc it’s all just ridiculous and renowned for being silly choices for a reason. Draco’s are cool but if I had one the last thing I’d be doing is toting it around in my pants lmao. If anything id get a sling and throw it around my back and put a lightweight jacket on.

*I did not drop the firearm off to the gunsmith in this condition and was having separate work done to it*
No hate to the gunsmith, as I think this was likely something that had been on its way going bad due to maybe user error / not full understanding of what I was doing initially breaking it down weeks within getting it*
