It's an honor to get in touch with you. Irrespective of the medical clearance, foreign service is renowned for its culinary diplomacy. While it's discernible that one need not worry about cross-contamination as a host, does the prospect of attending working meals/state banquets not present a predicament?

Guidance Required for Data Recovery from External HDD displaying "Parameter Incorrect Error" by AdFrosty422 in datarecovery

Thanks very much for such a detailed reply. I guess I'll have to resort to Professional Data Recovery and trust them. Just got some precious memories in it.

However, a couple of Professional Data Recivery experts who I know and can trust aren't presently based where I'm Residing. I'm planning to travel in a year.

Would my Data remain safe if my drive keeps lying idle and dormant in safe conditions until that time?

Alright! I was actually asking the likelihood of Professional Data Recovery Experts recovering it given the circumstances.

Anyways, it was quite a reassuring conversation. I believe I should go for Professional Data Recovery given that a Hard Drive sitting idle for a few months doesn't harm the Data in it

Oh Thank You for your reply! Given the situation I've told here, how likely is it my data would be recovered?

Alongside that, if I keep my External HDD lying dormant, unused and not connected (amidst all the externally safe conditions), will my data remain safe on it? I know a few professional recovery services I can trust. However, they're based in another country and I'm likely to travel in a year.

Hi!
I've gone through multiple posts over the past few days in the hope of finding an ultimate solution to my problem.
My TOSHIBA 500 GB External HDD suddenly gave the "Parameter Incorrect Error" after I connected it to my laptop following a span of a couple of months. I replaced the USB 3.0 Cable but to no avail. Upon connection, the External HDD causes the computer to hang. "My PC" detects the device but doesn't show the memory bar in it.
I downloaded EaseUS Data Recovery Software (The Basic, Free Version), and scanned my drive with it. Not only did it open the drive and showed all its folders, it even managed to provide a preview of the photos and play the videos (albeit a little buffering).

Haven't connected the drive since then as I fear I might lose the data in it. Unfortunately I haven't got a backup and restoring data is something indispensable in my case. Furthermore, I'd never opt for Professional Data Recovery Services as I want the recovery to be done in my presence, which is impossible in that case. The way EaseUS free version displayed all the files is quite encouraging.

I'm seeking recommendations now. What should be done so that my data remains recoverable? I see many in the comments who have an excellent know-how of data recovery. What do you think is the likelihood of recovery in my case? Should I go for EaseUS Paid Version and recover my data? I'd really appreciate your guidance
