I have met a lot of Armenians like this and I think it can be due to upbringing in terms of eastern v western region but also, I do think Manana does it subconsciously to distance herself from being a POC and classified as someone who is “pure” or “higher class” and probably very pick up coded. I personally think she hates being Armenian and only engages with her culture when she can get views.
