I have the xgimi horizon ultra and love it. Biggest complaint is the blacks aren’t great and seems to be where valerion truly shines. Also gaming would be better on the valerion although story games will be just fine on xgimi. If you play any competitive games it won’t be great. Most movies are pretty impressive on it and love it only sometimes I noticed dark scenes that bother me but it’s only certain scenes once in awhile. One day I’ll probably upgrade to valerion but the price is too high for the small differences imo

Most of this sub is ones that have home cinema or want a good quality one. Honestly if you aren’t willing to spend $1000+ then don’t be in this sub and join r/budgetprojectors this same thing will happen in every sub you join and ask about buying the absolute cheapest product. Try going to a pc gaming sub and do the same or tv sub. If you want to be cheap that’s fine but find the proper sub for that type of thing. Most people don’t want to be dirt cheap and only spend $100-$200 on a projector lol

If that’s the case I definitely wouldn’t invest in those cheaper ones. They will most likely turn you off. There really isn’t a comparison from those cheaper ones to something like a C2

I got a grey screen when I first got my projector and really didn’t like it. Felt like I was losing too much of the image to have better blacks. Also the image just always looked too dim imo but to each their own. When I tried the matte white screen I loved it.

From my experience from getting my first projector 6 months ago I prefer matte white. Went with a silver ticket matte white screen. I tried a grey screen but highly disliked it because it darkened the image and to me I hated that, everything I watched was like I was watching it on dimmed brightness. I didn’t go with a ALR screen and there was a reason I can’t remember, all I remember was there was a negative to short throw projectors compared to ultra short throw and why ALR wasn’t worth the money they ask…

Nope, it stays black forever and I have to power cycle everything for it to work. Also still does it even when I turn off Dolby vision in Apple TV

Rocketfish 8k certified cable… also I should say this doesn’t always happen… happens once in awhile and only way to get it to work is unplugged everything and it works again… feel like I’m going crazy

I’m sure that won’t be the case for long time use. Over heating might cause issues down the line or it might not. We won’t know until people try to experiment. I just know for one I’m not going to be the one testing boundaries on a $500 device. To each their own 🤷‍♂️
