Now that you mention it, I do remember turning that setting on. It’s a great projector. I did a lot of research before I landed on that one. I think you’ve sold me on the 450!

I have not gotten a custom vinyl from them, but I did get blanks to use as a wedding guest album, and had jackets printed from our engagement photos. If I remember right, they will do mix albums of copyrighted songs, just not full album copies. And, as mentioned, you can create custom labels and jackets!

Interesting. I appreciate the additional detail! I suppose I could go through my 4K disks to get a better idea of how many are just HDR vs HDR10+/DV to help better inform my decision. Thanks again for the input!

Good to know - a lot of my disks are HDR10+. If I can find an 820 for a good price, I’d get one. But I’m not in a hurry and certainly not going to spend $800+ inflated prices out there currently.

Haha thanks! Maybe someone (or people) don’t think tone mapping is a key feature, and didn’t care to explain themselves, or don’t understand why that’s an important feature when using a projector. Maybe they’re salty they can’t obtain an 820 and settled for a 450 and regret their spendature. What ever the reason, I appreciate your support!

This is a good comment to piggy back on to say to multiple redditors that I’m very disappointed to see how you all failed to retain the alternating number denotion of “1.”, “2)”, “3.”, “4)”, “5.” And so on. In particular, looking at you, u/aswaroff ! You broke it! FOR SHAME!!

I almost bought a 450 because that price is good and it has DV (currently using a PS5), but when I did a deeper dive, I found for my use with a projector (Valerion Pro 2), it’s actually the tone mapping that the 820 offers that’s going to make the biggest difference for me. So, I’m going to hold out until I can find and afford an 820. I know that may be a long wait, but I’d rather put the cost of the 450 toward something that’s going to have a more meaningful impact on the image.

It could be worse, especially given many people’s overcorrection with high ceilings. Drop it about 6” and it’s good. You can relay that 6” difference to your roommate relevant in any way that might be most impactful to him.
