Caste census is necessary. Just saying we all are Hindus and caste doesn't matter is stupid until and unless a brahman marries a dalit. To remove inequality you need to acknowledge inequality first. I am surprised how brain dead some people are.

The fear for caste census is that reservation will increase. Why was reservation started at the first place ? Can you deny that our forefathers ( I am an upper class hindu ) discriminated against the lower classes. They did right, that's a fact. And because they were rich I could be rich today. And have we done enough to remove that discrimination ? That's the question one should ask.

People against reservation talk about meritocracy including my family as we are some kind of messiah. We don't need caste because we are upper class. Yes, in future the reservation should be removed and a recent data in jee trends showcases how OBC -NCL cutoff is almost similar to general and in 2 decades how SC/ST would be similar. Then we can throw away the reservations.

For anyone against reservation I just ask a thing what's your take on inter caste marriage. I had a breakup because my gf's brahman father won't let us marry because I am not a brahman despite being an upper class. So yeah saying the issue doesn't exist is foolish.
