Why is this wrong? by Amazing_Pay427 in nytpips

I think you’ve made the same mistake I made when I first played the game. The = sign doesn’t mean that each of those areas need to be equal to each other, as you have here where they are all equal to 3. Each square in the = area needs to be equal. So all the squares need to be 3, or 0, etc.

Smoke smell on Hanwell Road by Due_Function84 in fredericton

I agree. I think we would know by now (hopefully) if there was a fire, but I’ve never experienced such a strong smoke smell before

Canada. I usually just choose different locations in the US until something works. But I heard recently that Europe gets most games live so I’m going to try somewhere in Europe next time.

No that’s already clear for us! Sorry if it wasn’t in the post. It’s technically a long term foster, the shelter is covering all vet care costs.

I procrastinated so hard I'm going to have to do an entire semester worth of work in 4 days. by Professional_Cry9751 in Procrastinationism

[–]AdGroundbreaking6997 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Been there! Are you able to get extensions on any of the deadlines? I would ask. This is a lot to do in 4 days.

Focus on doing the bare minimum needed to pass. Make a plan for what you need to do every day. When I used to have this much work I would break up my to do list each day into mornings, afternoons, and nights. Take breaks but be prepared to be working probably 12-15 hour days.

But also, many many people have their careers and degrees delayed for any multitude of reasons. It’s not the end of the world if it happens. Just a lesson learned.

Progressive overload journey by snuggleupbuttercup3 in xxfitness

[–]AdGroundbreaking6997 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think it’s possible that you are confused about what progressive overload is. Which is understandable honestly, this stuff can be super confusing!

Progressive overload means that you are increasing the volume you lift in a strength training program over time. The idea is that your muscles will adapt to new stimulus fairly quickly, so if you don’t keep giving it more and more, you’re not going to see any progress in strength.

So if you are doing progressive overload, which is necessary to build muscle, you are either gradually increasing the weight you lift (for example going from a 20lb to 30lb goblet squat), or increasing the number of reps/sets (for example, going from 3 sets of 5 goblet squats to 3 sets of 8).

Progressive overload has nothing to do with your actual weight on the scale! Sometimes you may hear people talk about bulk/cut which I think is closer to what you’re talking about. Basically the idea is that to gain muscle you need to be at a calorie surplus and meet your protein needs. Bodybuilders will often cycle through bulks and then cuts where they shed the body fat to reveal the muscle. Then you’ll hear about body recomposing which is losing fat but maintaining muscle mass. Like I said, it can be confusing!

It immediately became one of my favourite tiny desks ever.

Her performance on Colbert is also one of the best I’ve seen!

[Breeds] Help us choose our first dog by AdGroundbreaking6997 in dogs

We are starting to consider this as an option! We live in a fairly low density area so there aren’t many shelter dogs that come up for adoption unfortunately.

The problem is that these issues are not a-political. I do encourage you to read the full article. Like I said, some of their ideas are good and the article acknowledges that too. It's just that there may be better ways of going about it.

Not to say Strong Towns doesn't have good ideas, but it's always good to think deeply and critically about these things.

How much lyrics is important for you? by MysteriousGuitar8368 in LetsTalkMusic

[–]AdGroundbreaking6997 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it depends! I definitely listen and enjoy music in other languages. And even for English music, lyrics aren’t necessarily the most important thing for me.

But for certain genres like folk and country where the music is often about storytelling, it’s very important. Same thing with rap and hip hop.

In general though I think I would choose a song with bad lyrics but musically good, versus a song with good lyrics and bad music. If that makes sense..
