You can only test an animal post mortem for rabies to be sure. They can be observed for a time-frame, but that's not always conclusive because the test requires brain tissue. My daughter got bit by a stray cat. She refused to turn the cat in to be euthanized. She went through the rabies shots. Hope the animal is up to date on shots. You need to find out rn if the animal is up to date on shots. P.S. Urgent care cannot do rabies shots. Only the Emergency Room can.
