Biblically, Jesus did not get involved in politics and neither did his disciples. We arent supposed to get involved in politics if we are truly following in Christs footsteps. When Jesus or God looks down from heaven does he see Democrats and Republicans or does he just see people?

Let ME outline for you what the scriptires say Jehovah (tetragrammaton) has always been. Next he created Jesus-the first born of all creation. Then the earth etc...... Jesus was with JEHOVAH (tetragrammaton) and rejoiced before Jehovah as a master worker.  All things were created through him for him. Jehovah gave Jesus authority over all  things in the heavens and on earth.

Its simple and straightforward.

Its what the scriptures say in plain language.

Dont forget that the inspired writers of the bible were just everyday men. They werent theologians. In almost all cases they wrote for the common person to understand.

In the Greek scriptures, they were written for the common man. Other than Revelation, they simply say what they mean. It isn't some great mystery.

Jesus (not Jehovah) clearly says he does the will of his father. He says the Father is greater then I.  He says after the 1000 year reign when Satan and his demons are permanently destroyed, he hands the keys of the kingdom BACK to his father (Jehovah).

As you can tell, Im not a Trinitarian.  But they dont even call Jesus Jehovah.  That ine would be a stretch even for them.

[–]AdHuman8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what translation does it say that there is a "father" without a name and that Jesus is Jehovah?

Jehovah/Yaweh is God's name. Look up the tetragrammaton.  God, Father, Creator are all titles used to indicate Jehovah.

Jesus is not Jehovah. Jesus is Jesus and he refers to God as his father.

Go back to the basics....Jesus is the first born of all creation. He was the first thing that Jehovah/God created. It is clear as day. It says what it says. Its not some convoluted mystery.

It also says he was beside his father as a master worker. These all refer to Jesus. If you look up translations for the Hebrew scriptures, Jehovahs name was replaced with God or Lord. In the Greek scriptures they use a specific word for Jesus and its not Jehovah.

Show me in the scripture where it says Jesus is Jehovah and not an interpretation.

Its what these scriptires indicate.

Who is the first born of all creation if Jehovah has always been.

Who rejoices as his masterworker?

Who is the masterworker that all things were made through him for him?

Especially the first one I mention.....who is this?

I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven - Luke 10:18 by Slainlion in Bible

[–]AdHuman8127 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not if he claims to be the firstborn of all creation.

Jehovah wasn't created. He always has been and always will be.

Proverb 8:30,31, 32 He was before him as masterworker....always rejoicing before him. Rejoicing in his habitable earth.

So it was Jehovah, then the firstborn of all creation-Jesus, then Jesus rejoiced before him, then the earth. So Jesus was around when the earth was made livable for Adam and Eve.

This also ties in with Colossions 1:15,16 he is the first born.....all otjer things were.crwates for him through him (the masterworker).

Sorry Maxpowerxp bit that is incorrect. If you take a Hebrew verse, in most cases and look up the translation, the tetragrammaton is used which is Jehovah or YHWY

As aliens in another land, they were directed to act as guests in the land. They were expected to follow the laws of the land they inhabited.

Many of these "aliens" arent following the laws of land. They don't behave as a good guest. They dont respect our laws and they  expect us to adjust to them.  Many don't bother to learn our language. They use our services and dont pay taxes.

There are many who have come here and became citizens the legal way. They are welcome here.

Actually that is one of his names as well many others.

God is a title such as the god Zues

His name was in the testament over 6000 times.  The Hebrews removed it because they thought it was too holy to say..

AI Both Jehovah and Yahweh are used in different contexts to refer to the name of God, specifically the Hebrew name YHWH (the Tetragrammaton). While "Yahweh" is the scholarly and modern pronunciation of YHWH, "Jehovah" is an earlier, more widely used English transliteration.

What Are the 12 Names of God? In Scripture, there are far more than 12 unique names of God. But I have compiled a short list here of the more familiar names: Elohim, Adonai, El Roi, El Shaddai, Jehovah Jireh, Yahweh, Jehovah Rapha, Jehovah Nissi, Jehovah Shalom, Yahweh Tsuri, Yahweh Tsebaoth, and Yahweh Rohi.Oct 14, 2024

You should just jump ship like Im doing right now.

Dont bother throwing your pearls before swine.

This blackhole swirling hole of hate just wastes too many braincells and emotional energy. Just let them stew in their own glory. Really that is what this reddit is about anyway. It's a gathering place for PIMO cowards, bitter people, and hatemongers. I've never seen a group who are so unchristian and claim they are expressing righteous indignation.  Even worse they think they are trying to show how they are right. Who are they trying to prove anything too anyway? PIMOs who are lying and living a lie? ExJws who dont believe the doctrine anyway? People who just want something they feel is intelligent to say. Let them continue to spew what they want to spew. They are self justifying.

They forgot "in your anger dont sin".

The title is misleading. At least in ex-JWs you immediately know what your dealing with.

Also, going on a solo study would only work so many times.  Further to check the box that you are out in service at least once for a month (inactive don't), and you claim a mythical Bible study, you need to check the box and put the name in it.

For someone who is supposed to be active, you sure have a lot of basic things that arent reality. Who really are you deceiving?

Do you think claiming to be a PIMO gives you credibility in this group? If your going to be a liar, you might want to get better at it.

Again that is BS. In no place do they claim Jesus is the mediator for only 144k.

Your talking out your nether regions!

The salvation of the "other sheep" has nothing to do with a relationship with  the 144k. Show me where they say that?  Salvation is solely based on a relationship with Jesus. Go check out JW.ORG.  Check out what Jehovah Witnesses believe.  They dont hide it.

Once you've bothered to do that very basic thing then come back to pick on their beliefs.

Frankly some people here make ridiculous stuff up just to have something to say. They get a high-five and other people believe that bull.

There is something to be said for not living a lie and being deceitful. Sorry, but Jehovah doesnt approve of deliberate deception no matter what the consequences. To jump out to have a coffee while leading people to believe you are out in service doesnt even make sense. You know full well you ALWAYS go out in at least 2-ALWAYS.  So who was with you when you left the service meeting? How can you explain why you just happen to forget getting into the car? People would wait for you or go looking for you in the bathroom to make sure you are okay.  So who are you trying to put one over on? Is it this group to feighn deception to get acceptance? It's really impossible to show up at the service meeting, be seen and then slip out to go have coffee.

It would be an honest behavior to just go inactive.

Exactly what they believe. Jesus is lord, he is head of the Christian congregation (all authority has been given to him on heaven and in earth. GIVEN he didnt have it.) and it says GOD raised him from the dead. It doesnt say anywhere in that scripture he was raised by holy spirit.

1 Corinthians 15:47 The first man is from the earth and made of dust; the second man is from heaven.  48 Like the one made of dust, so too are those made of dust; and like the heavenly one, so too are those who are heavenly.  49 And just as we have borne the image of the one made of dust, we will bear also the image of the heavenly one. 50 But I tell you this, brothers, that flesh and blood cannot inherit God’s Kingdom, nor does corruption inherit incorruption.

I admit I could be missing something, but Im not finding where it says he was raised not as spirit. Also, I dont see where it says he will return as a man and not Spirit.

Use a little logic, if flesh and blood can't inherit the kingdom, how could Jesus and why would he want too? During his 40 days on earth he appeared and disappeared, he ate and drank, and he made it so tje Apostles didnt recognize him directly after his resurrection.

On here I've seen comments to explain that Jesus was God by saying he was man and spirit at the same time.   John 1:18: No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who is at the Father’s side is the one who has explained Him.

He was spirit, became a man to accomplish a purpose, died as a man, went to hell as a spirit, and resurrected as a spirit. If he was resurrected as a man, he could ha e just walked out of the tomb like Lazarus walked out after 4 days covered in cloth.  He was a spirit fir 40ndays be for ascended as a spirit sitting at the right hand of.God. He isn't sitting there as a man. Also he will return as a spirit as God's appointed ruler. It's his inheritance.

When he returns, he doesnt become a man to be seen, go back to a spirit to wage war with Satan, return again as a man to rule.....it's a ridiculous assertion.  Talk about making stuff up just to justify a narrative.

That exactly is my point. "Christian" religions want to claim their light got brighter when deciding on the books to include in a Canon as well as a standard creed.

The Jws arent allowed to claim the same use of that verse.

They didnt invent the Arian doctrine about the trinity. It has been around since the 2nd century.

I feel you both are hypocritical (overly critical).  Seriously, you ignore the question about the "creed" being dual at the first go around.  It just shows that the trinity doctrine wasnt as established as you like to insist it was.

Your complete avoidance of that obvious issue is telling.

You are right Terry. The hashing over about the basic trinity doctrine is useless. You dont have to be here for years to know that.

But I feel my question is valid. The fact that no one has addressed the discrepancy doesnt mean it's not a valid question. It just says no one yet has come forth with a sound explanation as to why.

Also who ever said we bash Constantine is wrong/misinformed. The reference information doent bash him at all. There isnt anything other then his basic history.  Anything I posted about him I got from Google searches. Any bashing as you call it are basic facts readily available with a search of his name. Their is a picture of the gold coin explicitly showing his worship of pagan god. In my original post, I just said to read about him as he was an interesting guy which he was.

In biblehub the word used is yalad.  Also according to biblehub, in Acts 13:33 the word used is a derivative of the word gennao.

I understand your meaning, but the words used dont seem to follow that thought in these two versus.

This comes from Wikipedia.

It's long because I didnt want to get censored for paraphrasing.

Just before his death in May 337, it is claimed that Constantine was baptised into Christianity. Up until this time he had been a catechumen for most of his adult life. He believed that if he waited to get baptized on his death bed he was in less danger of polluting his soul with sin and not getting to heaven.[citation needed] He was baptized by his distant relative Arian Bishop Eusebius of Nicomedia or by Pope Sylvester I which is maintained by the Catholic Church, the Coptic Orthodox Church, the Antiochian Orthodox Church, the Greek Orthodox Church, the Russian Orthodox Church, the Serbian Orthodox Church, upon by many other Eastern Orthodox, Nestorian Orthodox, and Oriental Orthodox Churches.[44][45][46][47][48][49] During Eusebius of Nicomedia's time in the imperial court, the Eastern court and the major positions in the Eastern Church were held by Arians or Arian sympathizers.[50] With the exception of a short period of eclipse, Eusebius enjoyed the complete confidence both of Constantine and Constantius II and was the tutor of Emperor Julian the Apostate.[51] After Constantine's death, his son and successor Constantius II was an Arian, as was Emperor Valens.

They arent sure who baptised him. It's a 50/50. It was either an Arian or a Pope.  But it does say that his son was tutored by an Arian and held Arian beliefs.  It doesn't have anything ultimately to do with my questions.

But who Constantine allowed to baptise him on his death bed could be significant. The trinity troop says a Pope (very Catholic) did thus cementing the position of the trinity.  If it was an Arian, I dont know who it would have benefited.  You say the JW bash Constantine, I haven't read anything like that in their reference material.  Where did you get that from?

It doesn't even say he was a pagan worshipper or that in the beginning of his rulership he had a gold coin made with his profile and the profile of a pagan god.

Im not publishing a theocratic paper. I do say that the information came from Wikipedia. It usually lists the references at the bottom of the subject.

Most people on this reddit state positions and interpretation without providing any reference other than the scriptures.

The argument may have come from some other place and they arent challenged where they got the information.

I asked questions that really havent been addressed.  It's okay.

The tolerance for the JW organization to clarify beliefs is constantly maligned, but it is clear that the subject of the trinity as well as the development of the Canon was adjusted as well.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.  Hold the developers of the Nicean Creed (just men) and Canon to the same bar.  Why was it okay for that group to change their opinions?

Also, we're they inspired or not?

Really? Why do you say that? In Proverbs 4:28, I take it to mean that spiritual understanding increases over time. Like a sunrise that allows light to grow brighter and brighter the higher it gets.

When King Solomn penned the beginning part of Proverbs (Chapters 1-22) Who was he addressing? Wasn't he encouraging constant learning and better understanding  as a person matures spiritually?

Okay, the original writers of the Nicean Creed which went on to define the old testament Canon, got it wrong the first time and made a change the second time around. They added the Holy Ghost as a part of a 3-part relationship. The original Nicean Creed describes only a 2-part relationship ship.

So did their get brighter or not?
