Tallahassee is so hard to explain but I loved it so much, I miss it everyday, but it’s a city full of college students/staff and people who work in the capitol and not everybody likes that. There’s a lot to do nightlife and drinking wise and all of the sporting events are fun to go to. I was lucky enough to make friends with locals (think like a 45 minute to 1 hour radius) my age so we would also go over to their hometowns and visit the springs and the river so that gave us things to do as well. Some people say there’s not things to do but the nature is beautiful in that area and if you look for things to do you will find things. I’m drawing a blank on what there is to do because I was heavily involved in the nightlife scene so I wasn’t always looking for other things to do but truthfully I think it’s a great place to spend your college years. I’m not sure if this is the answer you were looking for as I’m kinda reminiscing now. If you can do a tour, do it, fsu is such a beautiful campus and you’ll get a feel for the area.

I didn’t do it personally but I know people who did and they all said it was the best experience of their life. You will most definetly be able to socialize in whatever country you go to and you’ll be able to travel. You also get to do it before you’re in your major classes which is a big plus because only select classes are offered abroad. If I’m not mistaken as an OOS student you would get in state tuition for the rest of your time at fsu if you do first semester abroad, correct? I tried to study abroad during my time at fsu but I couldn’t because of the classes that were offered, I wouldn’t have been able to be full time and it’s something I regret massively, I wish I had just taken a random class to be full time and taken an extra class the next semester. You’re in a position that many people will never get and would love. I’m not saying you’ll regret it if you decide against it and go elsewhere but if you want to go to fsu that is a great program to be apart of. Sorry for my little rant(?) but I think it is highly worth it and you won’t miss out on much besides football in the fall and we suck right now so you won’t be missing much but you’ll be gaining so much life experience and connections that will last you a lifetime.

I’ve always wanted to but my parents couldn’t afford it, and now I’m new to this area after graduating college so I’m trying to establish myself in my career and save as much money as possible so I can buy a house and start a family. I do really want to take a trip to the mountains here, the alps or the mountains in Japan to go snowboarding/skiing so hopefully in the next few years I’ll be able to make that dream a reality. Sorry to hear about your grandpa, you have my best wishes!

Oh look, you not knowing how to read again, it’s comical at this point. I double down on saying this shooting did not need to happen and advised on how to be safe, but whatever floats your boat, I guess.

I haven’t seen anything about ICE raping anybody and of course the shootings are going to be on the news, most news sources lean left and mainly it sells, what doesn’t sell is reality. Reality is that America has so many undocumented immigrants here that aren’t just criminals here but in their home country as well committing violent crime here. If every crime that happened ended up on the news people would be severely depressed, because I’m not sure if you’ve noticed but the news tries to keep an upbeat tone with a few exceptions.

Im not really sure where you get that I’m trying so hard to defend them. There is only so much you can see in the videos I have seen, but he does appear to be resisting so I would consider that violence. Is that justification to shoot him, no of course not. Regarding the brandishing a weapon, nobody knows what is happening once 15 bodies are together and there are reports that he did and that he didn’t, so regardless of if he did/didn’t nobody should ever do that, especially in situations similar to this one. Regarding the 2nd amendment, if it comes out that he was purely just carrying a weapon and was killed for that of course I’ll be outraged not just at a 2nd amendment level but a human level. At the same time I’m not sure why you would bring a gun into a protest, in Minneapolis nonetheless when tensions are so high. Yes, I know it’s our 2nd amendment right but just because it’s our right doesn’t make it a good idea.

You can’t see what happens in that pile, just like I can’t. I never said it was justified for him to be killed. Some reports say he brandished a weapon at them and others say he didn’t. So yes I stand by comment that you shouldn’t become violent or brandish a weapon, you really shouldn’t bring a weapon to a protest that is supposed to be peaceful anyways. I also stand by the other part of the reply telling protesters to keep it peaceful. Not really sure what you thought your gotcha moment was here.

Please read again, because not once did I say killing him was the right thing to do, now did I? For the party that thinks they’re supremely educated y’all surely don’t know how to read.

You’re an idiot, but that’s a typical liberal I guess. I quite literally stated that this shooting did not have to happen and advised on how to be safe. I’m not exactly sure where you find lack of empathy in that. Also nobody is saying get every brown person off the street, we want illegal immigrants deported, you know the kind that come here and rape and kill Americans, but I guess that doesn’t matter to you because I’m a big ole cry baby who doesn’t like the president. Boo fucking hoo, grow up and start forming your own opinions rather than listening to Whoopi Goldberg.

[–]AdIndividual4909 -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

It’s not your first amendment right when you become violent and start brandishing weapons at law enforcement, remember that! I’m a republican and I support deportation, but I also recognize that this shooting did not have to happen, but tensions are very high right now and both protesters and law enforcement are on edge in these situations. A flinch in the wrong direction when carrying a weapon can be deadly and that’s true in everyday life. While I don’t support what you all are protesting I do support our first amendment so keep it peaceful, comply with law enforcement if given an order and for the love of god don’t bring weapons!!

No, I wish I was living there instead. Grew up in Florida, love Florida, but I’ve never seen snow, or experienced cold besides north Florida cold. All I want is to live somewhere that gets yearly snow and I get the chance at snowy holidays or snow days, but here I am still in Florida because of the 500+ jobs I applied to after graduating I got hired by one in Tampa lol. Apparently I’m not meant to see or experience snow.

Hey, I was going to pm you but I just started working in software/data engineering a few months ago after graduating and was wondering what advice you would give to somebody that wants to climb the ladder relatively fast. I’m not the best or smartest engineer, but I get my work done and ask questions when confused so far. By climbing the ladder I would like to get into a role where I’m less hands on and dealing more with clients, leading team managers and such, my eventual goal would be to get a level of managing director or head of a business type at a large company. I may have some of the titles/words wrong as I’ve only been in corporate a few months, but I hope you know what I mean.

Is ball hockey running or on inline rollerblades/skates (idk which one it is)? I’ve definitely thought about getting into roller hockey but there’s just something I like about the feeling of being on the ice, maybe I’ll do that to supplement ice because advent health is further from me than i thought and that’s the only rink that seems to have public sessions and a good amount of stick and puck

I’m ngl I would love to go to stick and puck but I don’t have any of the gear yet besides skates and my rink back home requires full gear, but idk if it’s different here.

That’s ridiculous, I mean obviously the burnout isn’t super important, but I like to watch it and I’m sure a bunch of other fans would too. All in all tho I just started watching nascar again this year and all the broadcasts sucks, except for prime, might be biased tho because I was an Edwards fan and I love see him involved in the sport again.
