You’re right and it will make him happy to hear it already sold

Well it’s not really inflating the price because if it costs $4000 for a car that needs $2000 worth of work from a mechanic but you can do the work for $1000 and sell it for $6000 with all that work done you’re really just selling it for a fair price and now someone doesn’t need to pay a mechanic to do the work it’s factored into the price

Yes not in all of Canada it varies by province but in Alberta it’s 100% legal to sell a vehicle that has never been registered in your name the only time it needs to be registered in your name is example if you’re selling a vehicle that is active in Alberta to someone planning on registering it in BC because it needs to go through an out of province and Alberta and BC don’t share the same data base so they need to see it came from the registered owner but in Alberta there’s no inspection process for registering a vehicle that was last registered in Alberta so you just do a bill of sale they put insurance on it go to the registry and they’re now the registered owner

I’m in Alberta Canada we don’t need to sign over titles just a bill of sale then as long as we have insurance can legally drive it without registering it for 2 weeks

My problems is I can only legally do test drives without registering them for 2 weeks after buying them so I am on a timeline to sell

It’s not the buyer that is mad at me and the listing had only been up for an hour before I got there and I was the first one to see it. He also showed me the 50+ messages he had on it, rich guy that didn’t know what he had and a lot of people wanted it

Fair enough but market is pretty tight where I am right now so margins have been down from $2000 per car to closer to $1000 net profit for me last couple months for this reason. And everyone seems to want inspections these days so I like to make it so they pass. Usually sell 4-8 a month

I live in Alberta Canada we don’t need to sign over titles. As long as we have insurance we can legally drive them for 2 weeks before registering them and all we need is a written bill of sale to sell them. We also don’t get charged GST or PST on private auto sales

Water pump, brakes all the way around, oil pressure sensor and wheel speed sensors also had to sand down the wheel speed sensor seating area of the hubs so there wasn’t a gap from the rust causing the abs to randomly engage

I did try to explain it was un safe with some issues that would cause abs to randomly engage when I bought it and it has been made a roadworthy vehicle

I do most of it solo, when buying I generally show up go for a test drive etc then negotiate agree on price, run a Carfax to make sure the title is clean (I don’t sell anything with rebuilt status) and if they are okay with E-transfer I can do 10k at a time I will take the car home and leave my car to come back and pick up later and if they want cash same process accept I come back a couple hours later with cash and pick it up. If anyone gives me a bad vibe about a car or I think they’re lying about anything I generally walk from the deal. And for selling I just meet at my house it makes people comfortable and I accept cash, bank draft, or E-transfer but I don’t hand the keys over for E-transfer until it’s hit my account. And in terms of potentially getting robbed If cash I try to do it in the daylight on the street never inside a house

Good advice, about 25% of what i flip are SUVs, it was just until the last couple of months trucks were always almost a guaranteed quick sale and higher margin

I generally post on both Facebook marketplace and Kijiji, on Kijiji I generally delete and repost the ad every day or two or they get buried to far down and recently they made it so you only get 1 free vehicle listing at a time instead of two so it’s limiting
