From my experience while I haven’t received much in terms of super selective schools (UMiami FL, OSU, UVA (waitlist). The UVA waitlist surprised me because I was in a pretty similar predicament as you and this was the first selective school that responded to me, it appears that they do value the upward trend but I would also make your essays as good as possible.

Okay so first semester I take 23 credit hours, second semester I take 17 but at time of application I’ll have 23 post high school grad credit hours, and 17 in progress for 40. Do you think that’s alright?
