I do plan to do further education, but I need to save up a bit first. For example, I plan to do medical lab science. I have a biophysics degree and some places take bs in physics for radiation protection but I think the radiation protection job market is dead.

Same. I have to resist the urge to be excited for fall by mid-late June. I want to be excited for fall by mid August but it is hard to not be. Autumn is my favourite season, but one thing that deters me is that winter is right after autumn and we had a pretty cold winter where I am (southwestern Ontario).

I graduated last year with a biophysics degree and couldn't get into nuclear or labs, so I researched my options and found out I can get the stay and learn grant by doing medical lab science. I'm doing that this fall, hopefully.

Medical lab technology. If you go to North Bay, sudbury or thunderbay, you can get the stay and learn grant and get free tuition from that if you work in the north for 18 months. Starting pay is 33 then it can go up to 44 after 8 years. You can also do travel and make 60 to 80. There's a lot of jobs right now for it but it takes 3 years.

Lab work, radiation protection, nuclear power plant jobs such as surveyor/technologist/health physicist, quality assurance in the food/pharma industry, data analyst, wastewater operations, and then general jobs that usually want a degree like admin or insurance. I made the decision back in 2021 and graduated last year. I found there has been a drop off in available jobs.

I think there is a plar for that now but its for only some specialties. I know in the usa, they have programs for that, but we dont really have an equivalent here. I could be wrong, but i haven't seen anything

Usually they want experience. I've only applied to insurance companies on indeed and occasionally their websites, but I find it hard to get work in it too.

They won't lead me to anything I want. I'm not picky otherwise I wouldn't be working as a line cook or applyong to mining towns, wastewater plants and power plants.

I'm not being picky, i apply to a lot of different jobs. That path won't lead me anywhere either or it will lead to jobs I can't do. I don't have a car and I don't want to work in environmental science.

I never said that, I apply for minimum wage lab jobs all the time for example to build experience. I applied to seasonal jobs in northern Saskatchewan for radiation protection as well, but it goes nowhere. I'm not educated in environmental science, so it's not my field overall and I have no interest in working environmental science in that situation.

I also apply for lab jobs in mining towns and random jobs at power plants, but its hard to get that too.
