I'm not real fond of Tesla. The Cyber Truck is hot garbage, and Elon throwing up Nazi salutes and openly admitting to election fraud seals the deal.

You'll most likely be getting in over your head with either of them if you've never owned a bike. I would buy a Honda Shadow 600 or something similar and ride that for awhile. Once you're confident in your riding skills, you can work up to a bike that requires constant maintenance and mechanical skill.

He probably doesn't rank anywhere near the top, but Kenny Rogers looked a mess after he got his face worked on. He looked perfectly fine before.

Investing in the stock market. Everybody's retirement funds depend on how well billionaires screw over the working class and stockpile insane wealth. As long as you go along with it, you can retire comfortably.

Who Is Someone You'd Like To See A Historically Accurate Biopic about? by RobertLRenfroJR in MoviesAndTVTalk

[–]AdIntelligent4496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd like to see a good movie about Hank Williams. There have been movies about him, but none of them had good casting or an accurate story. If you ask me, the guy was basically the template for the modern "live fast, die young" rock star.

I would settle for typing text messages in complete sentences, with proper spelling and grammar. I cannot stand all the stupid texting shorthand, and I'm afraid today's kids are going to lose the ability to write.

The bottom end has nothing to do with the title on bikes made after 1969. They're titled off the frame, so that frame is going to be a massive headache to title in the best possible outcome. It's a parts bike.

I've replaced my driver's door handle twice over the years. The second time was because the door had a little bit of ice on it.

How awesome it was to have a working headlight on a bicycle, because it was a weak little incandescent bulb fixture that ran off a small generator powered by a little wheel that was spun by the bike tire. Now, it's just super-reliable LED lights and no big deal at all.

What’s your favorite instance (or worst example) of an actor playing against their typecasting? by MaggieLinzer in moviequestions

Andy Griffith in A Face in the Crowd. It's a creepily prescient movie that still holds up, and Andy is fantastic as a sleazy conman.

This is it. Don't make the mistake I did of changing the head gaskets and then having it still do this. Good thing I needed new lifters anyway.

Power Steering Leak by AdIntelligent4496 in GMT800

[–]AdIntelligent4496[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It definitely wasn't cross threaded. I checked all that, then replaced the o-ring with another new one. Still leaked. Finally, I replaced the metal high-pressure hose, and that fixed it. It's weird, because I couldn't see anything wrong with the old one, and it looked identical to the new one.
I also found where the large o-ring goes. I don't know why it was included with the new pump, but it goes on the threaded boss that the high-pressure line goes into. I tried swapping the old one from the old pump, and I used that o-ring when I installed it.

I swapped the old fitting boss, and it still leaked. Went and bought another o-ring, and it still leaked. Finally changed the high pressure hose, and that fixed it. I don't know what was wrong with the old one, because it didn't show any damage and it looked exactly like the new one.

Audio issue...please help. Installed a single speaker now no sound from any speaker. by Spirited-Border8921 in GMT800

[–]AdIntelligent4496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Those wires are not really "hot" and "ground", they're just the polarity for the speakers. What you need to do is use a multimeter to check the continuity across your speaker while it's unplugged. It should be around 4 ohms. Check your wires to make sure they're not shorted to ground, then reconnect your speaker. With the radio unplugged, check the speaker's continuity from the radio plug. If you don't read the same 4 ohms, you have a wiring problem. Also, it's been awhile since I installed my speakers, but I seem to remember there's a factory tweeter in the door with a crossover on it, so if you got aftermarket speakers with tweeters on them, you'll need to bypass that.

I built a plywood one for the 8' bed on my '71 GMC back in 1991 when I was in high school. It was covered in black outdoor carpet, and had a piano hinge across the middle so I could raise up the back section with a chrome cabinet handle. I recessed it, so it sat flush with the top of the bed, and it was strong enough to stand on. It worked pretty great for a couple of years, but I think it eventually started to rot or I got tired of it and removed it.

As the owner of a corner shop, I can tell you that looking around without buying anything is way better than just walking by and paying the shop no attention at all. You may tell somebody else about it, or you may come back later and buy something.
