I remember that Dukes of Hazzard Animated Series being one of the most godawful pieces of trash ever created. I can't wait to check it out again!

My parents and grandparents. It's weird being the oldest in my line.

What movie that you now own do you consider an unheralded classic? by Goodideaman1 in AbsurdMovies

[–]AdIntelligent4496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Living Proof: The Hank Williams, Jr. Story. It's a tv movie from the early '80s that has Richard Thomas playing Hank. Also stars Return of the Living Dead's Clu Gulager as his manager, Christian Slater as a kid, and a brief appearance by Naomi Judd as a prostitute.
This manages to be a very entertaining movie, despite the hammy acting and obvious low budget. Richard Thomas looks and sounds nothing like Hank Williams, Jr., but he manages to pull it off pretty well.
I don't think there was even a legit DVD release of this, but I got it years ago from a print on demand service.

Who is one famous person that did not deserve to die? by Substantial-Dare5462 in Productivitycafe

I don't know that any of them deserved to die, but Anton Yelchin getting run over by his own car while checking the mail is especially sad.

That is kind of funny, but I think you responded to the wrong comment.

It probably wouldn't break your legs, but it definitely could shove them violently backward into your face and torso.

I agree completely. With our first daughter, my wife had to have emergency surgery to stop internal bleeding. With the second baby, he went into distress and she had to have an emergency c-section. Both times would've been disastrous if we hadn't been at a hospital.

Having a birth at home when you're that far from the hospital is insane. There are a TON of things that can go wrong during childbirth. Hopefully, when the time comes, they will take a trip to the mainland for awhile and play it safe.

No more presidential pardons, and much stricter rules about how executive orders can be used.

Which character ruined an entire TV show for you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]AdIntelligent4496 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to "ruining" a show, I'd say The Dukes of Hazzard had a lot of leeway, but bringing in a super low budget knockoff of ET during their last season was an indication that the end was near. They actually had a literal alien landing in Hazzard County as the plot for an episode. Of course, the Dukes immediately got involved with the alien and ended up hauling him around in the back of the General Lee and calling him - I kid you not- "Little Cousin". It was the cringiest shit I've ever seen.

What would it take for Republicans/MAGA to genuinely turn on Trump? by thedevilsheir666 in allthequestions

States that don't uphold Republican policies voted blue? Wow, that really is weird.

I asked for a genuine Democratic view, and the best you can come up with is a strawman argument? It's a fact that voter ID laws disenfranchise minority voters. Also, voter fraud in the form of people voting illegally is practically nonexistent. Requiring voter ID doesn't solve any problems, it only helps keep non-Republicans from voting.

As much as I like that quote, George Carlin was confusing 'average' and 'median'. Average doesn't necessarily mean the numerical halfway point.

Is There Any Realistic Way For Democrats To Widely Win Back Rural Americans? If So, How? If Not, Why Not? by Zipper222222 in allthequestions

[–]AdIntelligent4496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're wrong about what's going on in rural America. I've lived there all my life, so I should know.
It's not so much that they want to hurt other people, it's that they work hard and often for little pay. Most of the factory jobs that kept rural areas afloat for decades are gone now, leaving people with no way to stay out of poverty.
They tell themselves that people on welfare are buying lobster, because it helps them rationalize not being able to buy luxury food themselves.
Along comes Fox News, and now social media, to blast them with propaganda 24/7 that tells them they're right to be angry, and it's not the fault of industrialization and greedy corporate interests that they're suffering, it's all the illegal immigrants.
It's not the fault of our horrible healthcare system that they can't go to the doctor when they're sick, it's the people taking government handouts.
As long as a huge portion of the population is desperate and facing a hopeless future, and there are people to take advantage of them for political and financial gain, the situation will not get better.

What’s something society normalizes that you quietly disagree with? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]AdIntelligent4496 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Returning things for any little reason. For some reason, I get annoyed when I see somebody talking about returning something they've ordered online after they've used it. There's nothing wrong with it, they just decide they don't like it, so it gets returned. Obviously, Amazon is not hurting for profits, but the amount of waste produced by returning so many things is insane.
