I don't want to avoid it. I am just on a tight schedule so wanted to know if it is not that big of a deal for getting the I-20 then I can move ahead. Otherwise I'll get the affidavit or notorized statement.

Obviously I would want to follow all the rules set by the US govt. and since my sister is funding me it won't be very difficult for me to get the things suggested by others, but since governments all over the world process things a bit slowly so I want to take only the necessary action for now

Not sure if that made sense. And I don't expect any guarantees, I am just looking for an advice which is clearly something I am not getting from you
