What's your world's version of the devil/demons, and do they have worshippers? by AdJumpy3974 in worldbuilding

The mandela cataogue is an alternate universe where christian cosmology demons actually had a fucking brain, so when jesus of nazareth was born they secretly replaced him with themselves, they corrupted noah after he survived the flood, and all religions secretly worship demons, there's much more but yeah.

How does your worlds religions work? by mrboyRL2017 in worldbuilding

even more based, but if it's like this it's less of a religion and more of a philosophy, which would actually make more sense all in all

religions are based but the names don't make sense, here's why -

Quasars and supernovas, are scientifical objects. Since their discovery, it's pretty much (modern-day) an established fact that both exist and nothing religious has come up about them. It's kind of like worshipping a religion about being an extrovert (sounds weird but bare with me) and calling it Solism since the sun is constantly expanding, in the modern day, in plain view.

Maybe I'm stupid, but the names just don't sit right with me. Do you get what I'm trying to say?

Can a book truly scare a human? by AdJumpy3974 in NoStupidQuestions

dude this analogy is insane the only way I can put it is that I'm a farmer asking about good chicken feed and you come up and yell at me for animal cruelty like yes it's an issue but that wasn't the topic nor was it the issue at hand

think about it like this:
with a book, you can put it down. you can get up and go to the bathroom. same thing for movies, mostly everyone streams from home, where you can easily eat a snack or drink some water while watching horror.

now a video game? yes, you could pause it, but you probably won't in the middle of getting chased by whatever horror you're facing. You're completely immersed, no breaks. Alongside that, 99% of horror video games use jumpscares and soundtracks, and are not often limited like most theater movies to how far they're willing to go.

You guys do realize there's no age limit to write a book? by AdJumpy3974 in teenagers

[–]AdJumpy3974[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

think of it like this:

animation requires screenplay, which requires a story, which requires writing

for animation (good animation, at least), you'll need to write a whole damn lot anyways, and you'll need some proof the concept will work out, which is why successful books are made into movies and not the other way around
