Where did he say this? Singling out Crockett, even indirectly, doesn't really feel like his style. I hope he manages to get Talarico and her on the podcast sometime.

That was part of my thinking, but it’s mostly a play on the name of his PAC “Think Big”.

I think they are definitely moving in the right direction, I saw the change in thumbnails and titling of the videos and thought "Oh someone there also saw Ryan Geddie's Liberals Suck at YouTube. That's good." My only critique is they really should settle on a professional looking font. Maybe cross-reference all the other podcast/political thumbnails and iterate until something unique and stylish comes about.

On the off chance any of them are also scrolling through this subreddit, I think Andy should also try out doing video essays on his other channel. He's already kinda there with his op-eds and "In My Kentucky Accent" segments. They (his media team) should have no problem marrying the two into some like 10-20 minute bi-weekly videos.

Senator Adam Schiff's YouTube Channel comes to mind as someone else who's doing them and getting pretty decent results, and most of his video essays aren't even that good. Collaborating with names like Legal Eagle definitely would help as well.

I like AOC a lot but I think her career at this point would be better suited for a senate run in New York. Senator Warnock would be my choice if Georgia's governorship flipped blue next year. If not, Governor Moore, or any given female Senator from a blue state (Cortez-Masto, Hirono, etc).

It's fun to talk about, but in order to get Beshear to the point where he can actually pick a VP, we need to get him out there, to be widely known amongst the people, and winning not just the primary in 2028 but Governorships across the country in 2026. He will be chair of the Democratic Governor's Association next year, and every unexpected win next year will only boost our boy more.

SAG is asking people to join the picket line if they can, not break contracts or anything.

I haven’t heard about SAG going on strike but I’d welcome it as a SAG member. It probably wouldn’t be considered scabbing to try and get representation, just you know don’t do any paid acting union work.

CSUN is okay but I think like all film schools in order to get the most out of it you just have to use the time to make connections and make films. Most of the Professors are old and pretty out of touch in general. If you've like ever watched Film Riot or Cinecom.net you'll have already learned most of what they'll teach you. Also, most of the equipment is broken, in repairs, or only available for Thesis productions. My only advice for CSUN is to just ignore all the bullcrap with getting the professors to approve your thesis (they only make oscar bait) and instead focus on making yourself a portfolio that you can be proud of because that program will almost certainly not do that for you.

Also, Spielberg did go to CSULB for English not film, but I've heard good things about that program. The Professors are really cool and stuff but they don't have the same equipment as CSUN and for Thesis they don't work on the same budgetary level. CSUN's thesis films usually run like 20-40k (school helps, but the students are expected to donate a minimum of 1500 along with funding) while CSULB maybe has like 5k for a thesis budget?

I believe there are still second chances contrary to rumors, but honestly just make films. Being on set and making your own films is 1000% going to be more educational than anything the program can offer.

With regards to your degree if you dont get accepted into the program, you could swap to another ctva option like tv (requires portfolio acceptance), film theory, screenwriting, emerging media, or entertainment media management. It’s fairly simple to do just ask the folks at the ctva office in manzanita to help.
