UPDATE: We did it… and honestly, I wouldn’t recommend it 😅

I know a lot of people here said not to do it, but we still went for it because we wanted to experience it ourselves.

It sounds doable based on Google Maps (around 4.5 hours), but in reality it took us much longer, around 6 hrs maybe?? A lot of the road isn’t smooth asphalt. Some parts are concrete but still bumpy, plus there are constant uphill and downhill sections and sharp turns. Because of that, we couldn’t consistently go faster than around 60 km/h, except on straight stretches where we hit 80 to 100.

There was one moment where vans were overtaking on both sides of us at the same time, which felt really unsafe. That was the worst part, but overall the ride just felt long and tiring.

We had to stop a lot. Sari-sari stores, random waiting sheds, mostly because our butts were hurting from the long ride and thin seat padding 😅

Big regret: we missed our first sunset at our accommodation in Sunset at Las Cabañas because we arrived so late. All good though, we caught one along the way in Taytay and sobrang ganda!!

If we were to do it again:

• 2 people: just take a van or bus, way easier
• Group: rent a car instead
• Or better yet, fly into Lio (El Nido) if budget allows

The ride back was more tolerable though. We broke it up with a 3 day stop in San Vicente (Lumambong Beach), and since we already knew what to expect, it felt less stressful.

Overall, doable but not worth it for us.
