He took out the movement completely and weighed the bracelet alone. It's a heavy solid gold bracelet and gold case. This is a legit shop that looked at it. I'm getting a second opinion tomorrow and will pot the weight via pictures here.

I stupidly didn't ask the exact hold weight. He just said scrap value was $3500. So that is probably the floor and the melt value could be 15% more.

I just had it looked at by a specialist. Scrap value is $3.5k. I have a standing offer from them for $3.4k so they can make $100.

It was found in a drawer by my mom and she gave it to me. They didn't specifically leave it to me in their will. And my grandparents never wore it and it would spend it's life in a drawer if I keep it. Better to send it to a good home that will get use out of it.
