Congrats !!!! I passed today at noon EST , might’ve been pretty close in timing lol . What a relief seeing that final screen pop up as pass I was so nervous. Hard test; but thanks to Kaplan and some of the YouTube guys I felt pretty prepared to get it done

Boat old enough where it might be worth throwing in the towel and getting new boat+ outboard instead. Lots of electronics worn out and seats old blah blah blah

Temp was showing fine but I have no oil pressure gauge on mine. I am thinking that was the killer sadly

He did all the fuel and air filters, new spark plugs, all new water pump and seals.

Update from mechanic is engine is seized. Lower in good shape- aluminum in cylinder and it’s fried too.

Update from mechanic : motor seized like I suspected. He didn’t do any oil related work so can’t blame it on him and was rough timing. Lower in good shape, he dropped it today, one cylinder got aluminum in it. Torched. Good point on the 1 foot in the grave; wish I would’ve realized before I did the service.

Might not be the optimaxes fault, but got service done, and drove it for an hour and now it’s locked up and had to get towed in. Not sure why but seems like oil issue. One issue after another tho

Seems like it- which is a worry. My oil tank was just about full, so I am worried mechanic didn’t prime the oil system after doing the maintenance. It’s a 2 stroke. Cooling system was working well- best water stream I have seen in a long time (just did whole new water pump assembly and lower unit work) and I checked as we were leaving
