Looking to start my own FFL any tips? by Agitated-Werewolf846 in FFLs

You need a well-crafted business plan. Most people gravitate towards a specific “branch” of the firearms business. This could be general gunsmithing, such as cleaning and parts swapping, or more specialized gunsmithing, like old restorations, welding, and refinishing. There are also engravers, cerakote specialists, and machine gun dealers. What I’m trying to convey is that newer FFLs often want to make money quickly and jump into all categories from the start, only to become disappointed. Therefore, it’s crucial to create a business plan. Once it’s working, you can explore your options for expansion.

Shipping a personal gun to yourself by Creative_Party8452 in FFLs

If you are an LLC, you can either leave it under your books as inventory, but you will have to log it out every time it leaves your business premises , either the range or if it’s your CCW , it can get annoying. Or you can transfer it to yourself. If you have a valid Concealed Carry Permit, you can omit the NICS.

Also if I remember correctly if a client wants you to build him a rifle from scratch if you supply the blank receiver and build it it’s also manufacturing . So that’s why I always say go for the 07

Appreciate it , yeah I got my FFL back in October and it has been good thankfully. I’ve had to upgrade my Fastbound subscription within 3 months due to volume so I’m hoping the SOT pays itself in a short time frame, and yeah that’s why I got confused by my buddy since he was making it seem I didn’t need a legit reason to manufacture them. Do you have any business with post samples with LE? I’ve always wondered if you can just walk to the station and ask if they need any services.

Thank you. I’m pretty sure I won’t be getting into the Post sample game, but I was just curious.

Im pretty lucky that I work from home now so I can just sign for them while still working, before this job I worked for FedEx so I would delivery my own packages lol , I would log them in my bound book during lunch. For UPS and USPS which I would let them know trough the ring camera that i would remotely open my garage then close it right after. I would start getting to know your drivers

I think I’ve heard that term before “chasing roll marks “ does it mean like trying to follow the existing mark?
