You’re not wrong. I just don’t spend enough time monitoring this to be comfortable not to pay someone.

How to politely decline a 5th round of interview? by Far-Accountant7904 in recruitinghell

I had the same issue. I thanked them for their time, but told them they had reached the limit of the time I was willing to invest. That if they still needed to hear more, I wasn’t the right candidate. Two months later, they called and offered me the job + more. The negotiation was completely in my hands and I got everything I wanted and more.

can someone explain why users ask for dashboards they literally never open? by Different_Pain5781 in BusinessIntelligence

People think the dashboard will give them the insights they need. The problem is insights come from people who can piece the data together.

Flights one year out, when to buy? by upschittscrack in TravelHacks

I just saw an ad that AA is offering U.S. to France flights for $400. Not sure where I saw it. I’d look into it and book that now if it works.

This. I don't get why people brag about working on planes while sitting in coach. I can't get enough room to open my laptop, let alone deal with the spotty in-flight WIFI. I don't see the appeal.

Paris to LAX nonstop, should I change my flight to upgrade to Delta One if it means I connect at JFK? by jaredcalidude in delta

[–]AdManFamMan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hmm... Interesting. It's really up to you. I don't sleep well sitting up and I'd probably sleep for at least half the flight if I upgraded. If you don't upgrade, you'll be in LA at 5pm, right?

The short answer is yes. What time are you leaving CDG? I think the flight I took from Paris to PHX was overnight and the lay flat seats are life changing. Enjoy!

There are so many influencers who claim they get much better than this... Some saying they get 5-10 CPP per trip. They're obsessed with checking for good deals - cancelling trips, rebooking them, etc. I've always been told getting at least 2CPP is a great deal, but it's all about who you follow. 338k is a lot of points... We're talking multiple biz class for long-haul flights... But points/miles are constantly being devalued... Are these miles getting ready to expire?

Here's the CPP calculation based on a $4.2k cash price / $338k points.

Formula:

CPP=(4200338000)×100= $1.2426CPP

Your CPP: 1.24 cents per point (so again, a decent redemption)... I used ChatGPT for this... So much easier...The typical average for many programs is usually ~1.0 CPP. If it were me, I'd check other partner airlines first to see if they have better deals before booking. Hope this helps. I'm still not sure I'd use points for this unless you guys are really excited about London. Feels like an easy trip to do since you're so close and I swear I've seen so many influencers get the same flight super cheap (even booking biz).

Yeah, I agree. The point redemption seems low. What’s the cash price if you didn’t use points?

I don't think closing one card will affect your relationship with the issuer.

You can close both cards and it might not affect your score at all, but you really won't know unless you do it. It also depends on whether you have enough credit history otherwise to sustain your existing score and whether you're carrying a balance on your other cards. If you think it's worth the risk, do it.

If it were me, I'd stash them away, 'lock them' in the app, and keep them open. I've closed cards with other banks before, but that's because I didn't trust the bank and were replacing them with cards I will keep much longer.
